hgeranium
Anyone get suspicious when your XJ/MJs start behaving perfectly with no issues? It’s like the calm before the storm. I’ve had to replace so much (all easy stuff) in the 4 years I’ve had the jeep that I’m dreading what very large projects await me in the future. I can’t even enjoy when it’s running good because a failure or scare is inevitable haha. Last time the jeep was running great for an extended period of time, I got stranded 200 miles from home with the fuel pump going out.
eaglescout526
Ehhh. I used to. Now I know they’re both well behaved to where I can drive and enjoy them comfortably and reliably. Someone on here once said that Renix is almost alive. It knows when your afraid of it. I lived by that a bit to show it who is the owner and not to fear it, even when it’s running good and strong with no issues.

Regardless, I have a stoic outlook of life “As my life comes to me, I will go to my life”. Just taking punches as they’re thrown. It seems pretty applicable to the car world too. So the best I can do is enjoy the good times in lieu of the bad times, and use the good times as motivation when the bad times finally come. Silver lining is I always end up learning something. And for every thing that I learn, things get easier. The only mistakes I have ever made are when I don’t learn from them. While on the topic of philosophy: if I take the Jeep of Theseus into account, once I replace enough parts it’ll be a brand new machine lol. pizzaman09 Posted yesterday at 01:01 AM Share Posted yesterday at 01:01 AM Even though it's my vehicle with the most miles, my MJ is the one I trust most on a long trip. It's in the best condition of my highway capable cars. My 99 BMW M3 I'm always suspicious that the cooling system is going to explode and my 09 Civic Si is an electrical ticking time bomb. I do understand your feeling, just when everything seems to be going well, something bad will happen.

89 MJ Posted yesterday at 05:36 AM Share Posted yesterday at 05:36 AM In the nearly 8 years that I’ve had my MJ, I think I’ve only had it dialed in three times. And two of those times, it let me down (blocked up radiator and then needed a water pump replacement). I haven’t driven it enough since getting the water pump replaced to tell if it’s truly fixed yet or not, but I’m cautiously optimistic. I know exactly how you feel. White_Comanche Posted yesterday at 05:58 AM Share Posted yesterday at 05:58 AM Whether your MJ is a sole daily driver — or garage princess — you will always need (and) want to spend money on it — It's all about the love bro
