Daily driver shocks

For any of those that daily drive an MJ/XJ, any specific brands of shocks that you'd recommend when prioritizing comfort/ride quality? I'd be willing to splurge on higher quality brand. I'd get Bilsteins but as far as I can tell, they don't make a set for stock ride height MJs. Are monotubes even worth paying extra for if I'm just looking for on-road quality?

Just now, Eagle_SX4 said:

For stock ride height I would run the KYB gas-a-just monotubes. They are a great shock that rides very well. I have them on my Eagle and had them on my old Jaguar. They are about $40 each on Rockauto.

Good to know. I was considering those, but it's good to have a second opinion about them. Great price too. Thanks.

I had the KYB silver ones made in Japan on the front of an XJ. I like them. I use the KYB monomax on my 2" lifted XJ. I like them, but they are firm. Not quite as firm as the Bilstien 1500s.

I had Rancho 200s they were too soft. The Ranchos have different levels. I do have some of the 9000RS Adjustable on my XJ. I like them at mid adjustment.  I had some white box ones from Iron Rock Outfitters on the front. Soft too.
