87MJTIM
I know that Jeremy has retired from his radio repair business for health and job reasons. I have searched for info on the 'net about installing aux and/or BT to old AMC/Jeep radios. Is there a site that has a detailed write up on how to install/modify old radios for aux/BT. I searched on CC but could find written instructions or a parts list. I found a YT video on installing aux, but is was from '22. While that helped visualize the process, I need written instructions (cookbook) to perform the task. Thanks in advance.

Spinnakerblue89
I would be more curious about adding USB, myself.
87MJTIM
In the DIY section, "What Minuit knows about...", Pete linked to a YT video showing someone performing the steps. In that video, you can see an instruction sheet that was downloaded from Jeremy's website - now defunct. I reached out to him - Doug - on his YT channel to ask if he still had the instruction document. He replied with the pdf attached!!! He also provided links to the harness wires and pins. Those links are still in the DIY thread. I looked the website (digikey.com) for USB type harness. The USB wire configuration uses 5 wires, while the one Jeremy used is only 3 wires. Since I am not an electronics expert, I don't know what the two extra wires control and how they interact with USB plug. I have an adapter for my iPhone that uses an 8mm male pin to the phones plug in port. However, a blue tooth dongle would be sweet. Does anyone know what the two extra wires control (both black)? Salvagedcircuit
Does anyone have a pdf editing software? I think we should respect jeremy's privacy and edit out the address from the PDF and then re-upload it. Just sayin.

Here's a version with the warranty and contact pages removed. 52381847_AUX-C1Instructions_contact+warranty_removed.pdf https://stirlingpdf.io is a free PDF service. You can also download the software and self host it yourself as well (this is how I've changed this file).
ghetdjc320
USB audio is typically a digital signal. You would need to use a digital to analog converter as you’re looking for an unbalanced analog stereo signal to provide the radio’s pre-amp. So a USB port would need to pass through the converter before reaching the rest of the board?

That’s correct. There are a huge variety or usb digital to analog converters available and they typically have a 3.5mm unbalanced stereo output that will then be wired to the board inside the radio. Once you have an aux input on your radio, you centrally connect all sorts of devices to that which in turn can interface with the music source via USB, Bluetooth etc.
