eaglescout526
I got a rock. Not the joke fad from the 90's but a tortoise.
fiatslug87
It’s awesome that you trained him! I guess he’s your shop hog. We have a ball python (Slinkie) that’s 27 years old, got her as a hatchling the size of a pencil. Unfortunately she doesn’t do tricks. We also have a Cockatiel (Butters) that my wife rescued from a street tree 16 years ago.

Htchevyii
We currently don't even have a goldfish (after losing our beloved dog of 16 years a few years ago) and are enjoying the freedom to travel on a whim, but we do love animals. When I was a kid, we always ended up with some kind of random orphaned or stray animal. We raised a baby squirrel that came out of a fallen tree, a baby band tail pigeon and had a turtle and angora rabbit that just showed up at our house. Spinnakerblue89
Had a toad for a long time. I suppose that's somewhat unusual, most people go for the frogs. His name was Flip. I had a barn cat that stuck around until recently. I actually am not a cat person at all, but she caught the field mice. Yeah, yeah, I know it's not an unusual pet, but the name sure is. I named her Slim Jim.
WranglerMangler
Just recently got these two Berkshire pigs. This will be our first attempt with pigs. The one with brown is a male, we named him Porkchop because we plan on getting him butchered. The other pig is a breeder and we’re going to keep her around to have a constant supply of delicious pork in the freezer. We’ll keep one piglet from her litter to butcher again. Luckily the people we got the pigs from have a breeder boar. Along with the pigs we have a bunch of chickens and ducks too. We also have a bunch of cats running around here too. Not unusual but some have unusual names. Mush Bush No Booger Bushel Shrimp Quattro Pendejo Uno Mewchacho and Banjo

Will you just take her to that breeder every year or so?

They can become pregnant as early as 6 months but will possibly damage their body from not being fully developed. Kinda hoping on butchering 2 pigs a year once we get going. All depends on how fast we go through the meat. I was told the optimum butchering weight is 300-400lbs for the male so he will only get to about 7-8 months old. Still our first go at the pigs and this is just my understanding so far. They are fun animals to have around. Don’t stink as bad as I thought either. Would definitely suggest getting pigs to anyone thinking about doing it. On 10/5/2024 at 5:40 AM, Car Enthusiast said: What's the turn around time for her to have piglets? Very good animals to have around. I would have them now but we live in town.
