Drahcir495
I went to the pick n pull and picked up two of the wing window channel ?? pieces. The are in excellent shape -> My question is how do you secure the glass back into the channel? Could I use this? ->
JeepSchmidt O'Guinness
I thought the vent windows were all one piece?
fiatslug87
There are two versions, the fixed and vent windows that pivot open as above.
rokinn
IIRC the glass is already a pretty snug fit without any thing else. Getting a well cleaned and precise fit on the rubber parts will be the key in having wing windows that don't leak. The only time mine will have some small leakage is if I spray directly at them with the high pressure wand at the car wash.
Drahcir495
When I put the glass in it will slide a little front and to the rear. I will need to get them to stay put?

Both of mine do the same thing. Whatever the factory used to seal them to the bottom metal part has deteriorated over the years. I thought about cleaning out the channel and using windshield urethane to reattach them.
Htchevyii
The rubber below is commonly used on older vehicles where the door class presses into a steel channel. I'd think that a windshield urethane would be ideal, but a little spendy for the amount that you will need, (since most would be wasted). Drahcir495
Thank you. I will check that out
Tex06
Black RTV will work. You can also use it and a Walmart bag/plastic sheeting to seal any air leaks in vent windows.

AZJeff
Black urethane glass adhesive (used to attach windshields to the body opening) is the ideal agent. Any glass shop should be able to do both windows for a few bucks, and it’s UV tolerant, more than RTV.
Drahcir495
Never thought of that! I will call around and probably do it that way
OldSch88L
Like some people said, windshield adhesive (black urethane) is the proper thing to use. If you don't want to buy a whole caulk gun size tube and risk wasting the rest, you can do like I did, and buy the smaller sized Permatex tube:
