DirtyComanche Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 I thoguth about it. Then I remembered how it was -40 here last winter. Now, let's add a wind chill to that... No thanks.
87manche Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Are all MJ owners this short? I'm 5'5"! Yeah, we're all Napoleonic and compensating.
pingpong Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 It really isnt that bad w/o the windows or doors. It was a little rough when I wheeled in Feb and it snowed the whole day on Saturday. I got more cold then wet, but still kinda miserable. I kinda wish I would have made some trail doors, but it really doesn't make much of a difference when you are wearing 5 point harnesses. can't really lean out anyways, especially if you are cinched down right
c0mt3k Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 Are all MJ owners this short? I'm 5'5"! HA! 6'1 lol
Stumpy Posted April 15, 2006 Author Posted April 15, 2006 Are all MJ owners this short? I'm 5'5"! HA! 6'1 lol   do you "fit" easily..lol
Skidd3R Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 Are all MJ owners this short? I'm 5'5"! HA! 6'1 lol   do you "fit" easily..lol That was what I was thinking as well. We are short because tall guys buy XJs so they can fit better.
Pete M Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 I ripped out my headliner and lined the roof with a sheet of automotive foam (and then speakerbox carpet so it looks nice). Gained a couple more headroom inches for my 6' frame. Jep on! --Pete
c0mt3k Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 i fit ok but, i don't have tilt so the steering wheel is like rubbing my stomach the whole time I'm driving :-/
CWLONGSHOT Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 I'm not a small guy by any streach either...6' tall, 245lbs, #12 shoe. Since my bucket seat swap the head room is a bit tight and friends laugh watching me et in and out....(Seats are a bit higher). But once in I manage, tilt wheel would be nice but I don't rub against it while driving. The wheel is in the way of the gages. I am tall from the waist up, only 32" inseam jeans. To tell the truth, I am only bothered, because I can no longer ware my cowboy hat in the truck!! :D :P I have new headliner to put in and in a couple weeks I'm gonna remove my buckets and see if I can cut the height down and reweld back together. It was fine for room before the XJ buckets went in. But I LOVE the comfort they offer, I will NOT be going back to the bench even if I cannot cut them down! CW
87manche Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 cw, I can get you some MJ bench seat brackets if that would be helpful.
ComancheKid45 Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 I'm 5'7" and i always have people sayin "No wonder you have this truk, no one else can fit"
Oizarod115 Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 5'11 with XJ buckets no problems. but my 6'3 friends tend to give me a chuckle as they smack their way in and out...
XJ Maki Posted April 16, 2006 Posted April 16, 2006 I really like the idea of the doors with the boat canvas windows! and to follow the hi-jack, I'm 6'2 two-fiddy...in the process of swapping in some XJ buckets, with the bench I have tons of headroom, even more than in my XJ, but the legroom sux so I'm looking forward to sitting up a little higher.
CWLONGSHOT Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 cw,I can get you some MJ bench seat brackets if that would be helpful. I bought these buckets with the brackets attached. I am not sure what they actually are. The seats are the style that "rock". I and the brackets from my bench, but you only get two and you need four.........You muxt know something I havent figured out yet.....spill it already! :-D :D :-D Yea, I smack my head of I don't get enough of my arse on the seat before tipping my head in... ..This has proved more difficult since I lifted it almost 6" taller and added 33's. :D  CW
pingpong Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 I'm 6'1" and go 275 on the hoof  Its funny watching me gety my fata$$ in my rig especially with the door bars and no tilt wheel  That why I normally don't get out to take pics
Kernel Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 I'm 6'1" and go 275 on the hoof  Its funny watching me gety my fata$$ in my rig especially with the door bars and no tilt wheel  That why I normally don't get out to take pics  plus if it's built right you won't have to get out and fix it. :D

Alex Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 I feel the pain, I'm 6'7 with my boots on...it aint easy! Doors lookin good! Keep it up, and post the finished product. I hate welding thin gauge too! Just drop the temp on your mig and take your time. -alex
