The pvc is a joke.
the bar under it is called traction bars from Caltrac.
it’s to prevent axle wrap also known as wheel hop.

with the little bit of weight we have in the back it causes the wheel hop and this system completely eliminates it. And a byproduct of it is it multiplies the downforce of the rear tires and helps traction tremendously.

12.4 is mighty impressive!

In Moto-land, the difference between an "owner" and a pro is easily half a second.

Not sure if that is directly relational to cars though...

I think the saying is "you can go as fast as your checkbook will allow".:grinyes:

What is that lining on the tunnel? Looks like a radiant barrier?  Or is it something the track required?

Again, kudos on superb build.:L:

@89 MJ thanks, I thought it was a nice touch as well.. not a lot of people outside of the racing/off road world know what traction bars are for so it is lost on lots of them.
but yea the ones who get it have a nice laugh.

@pago cruiser oh yea racing and anything automotive is directly related to how big the check book is.
the right weather and a few small upgrades and Frankenstein mods should get me close to my goal.

the lining is a heat shield, you can really feel the exhaust, engine/ trans heat radiating through the floor after the swap. I have some sound deadening inside under the vinyl flooring as well. It can still get warm in there but it’s tolerable. I gotta be careful where I put my groceries in the bed also, that still gets very warm from the exhaust.

Picked up a donor for the front clip/ interior swap.

Problem is, it’s so clean and I can very easily fix it.
But I got it so cheap, there’s no way I could do this swap any cheaper.

maybe I build a 6.0 LS for my truck and put the 5.3 and 4wd in the Cherokee for the wife🤷🏻‍♂️

That looks like a ton of fun!  Which Caltracs bars did you get?  Do they offer a Jeep specific kit or are they universal?

They have a forum you fill out, they make it specifically for your application, and it is no extra cost.
I have a ford 8.8 rear end with the disk brake conversion and 4.10s so my setup is not like many other jeeps.

Installed Novak radiator #3 this week. I had about 3000 miles on each of them
So far 2 of them has had a leak at the core. Novak has a new designed core, to help with this issue.
the new design is MUCH smaller. 3/4” thinner and almost a inch shorter! 1CDF4999-625C-461B-B924-290AE8117A1F.jpeg.51ee1d3e6fb62ba30d6f58fe4ce81c25.jpeg75702407-117E-4654-B283-81A31EB210A3.jpeg.009aff7fed8f73af8cf9c747d010488f.jpeg

So far the temps are fine (180-200°) with 80°+ outside   did an hour highway drive and all day in city with no issues.
hopefully the Louisiana summer doesn’t cause any problems.
