fiatslug87
It's required for your HVAC and cruise control to work. People relocate it near the blower motor. Or locate the solenoid box in the engine bay away from water.

Well I would move the solenoid to the engine bay buy there's no room for it really
AZJeff
There is plenty of room UNDER the cab back behind the seats. It’s going to be a PITA to run vacuum lines back there, and then forward again, but it can be done. you will also need to protect it in some manner if you ever do serious off-road stuff. I would suggest locating it just inboard of the “frame” rail on the drivers side, and add a sort of skid plate attached to the “frame” to protect it. Muncher
Are you talking about the canister or the solenoid?

He mentioned vacuum lines so I assume he is refering to the canister. But either one could be relocated there. I think vacuum hose is cheaper than wire..... Pete M
mine literally just sits loose on top of the relays. feel free to do better than I, but I wanted to point out that it barely matters where it goes. just as long as it's there and connected. Kaiserman
If your cruise doesnt work (or if you don't care if it does) you can get a smaller vacuum resevoir. Non cruise rigs had one half the size of yours. Rob one from any 60's-80's vehicle. All you need is vacuum in from the engine and vacuum out to the HVAC controls. Thats sloppy. I put a zip tie through the mounting screw hole and zipped it to the coolant tank bracket.
