Comanche's new home

Lol, not really tugboat, but I have 2 sets of pilings I used to have by my driveway I'll put out there with a some old wooden block and tackle and a couple of small keg anchors. I do have a set of navigation lights that may find their way on the pilings. I have to convert them to 110v. I do have three 1000w floodlights that came off my current ride when we converted to LEDs. I will be putting them on the building to light up the yard. Neighbors are gonna Love that. The other planned adornment will be a flagpole with a yard arm. To display Ole Glory, the Merchant Marine flag as well as a Maltese Cross flag as I'm also a volunteer firefighter. But that one may find its way to my front yard where more people can see it.

Been waiting April. And today I got it! Now what?
Hopefully tomorrow I'll be sealing and coating the floor. That system was delivered yesterday. Now would be the time to insulate it, but I'm out of money so that might have to wait. Life has happened and I need some storage space now.409b673daedc4a3ecfdd0465528eb46d.jpgc9375a007ed04778580f4b5d10265a71.jpgac5197cbd9511faa375c7eb9782e4a34.jpg0b433bfc8c73e5b4f219947ed1b21769.jpg

Well, the big truck fits. Thank God I got the 10 foot door. Trying to get the electric hooked but I'm having trouble getting an electrician to call me back. I'd prefer a licensed guy to at least doing the meter base and panel install. But if this keeps up I guess I'll have to brush off my electrical skills and do it myself. Problem is, I can wire it but I don't know codes. And it has a permit so codes matter on this. My skill set is more along the lines of make it work.b7c7f29c0a85e1f7b49192caccd7f32a.jpg251be1bcbd9bbf4b099189d25ccc646b.jpg10b5fbde9c96c79ae73a9b67e7709b32.jpg27954bbcd1e97dcfd8876fa72c9cdbd8.jpg33694d10b7ffaa9d0ad13aa126d5c70c.jpg

I got some light today, sort off. Had to run a drop cord from another shed. Hopefully the meter base and circuit panel will get installed this week and then Duke energy will run a 200 amp line to it.75cb46fb5212a2cefdc093e3b74b8293.jpgb9e49453d68a3d36b64f9fcfdbe94f18.jpge618b74ec788d57e6c4044ff8b4a882d.jpg34f99168a00ef841e301cbc1bc344904.jpgefed6696a1c940558b27bf4f384b9ac1.jpg277ba98e4a6327e2904ed86298366f2a.jpg

Well I finally got the power run to the building. Its been a 9 week wait. Duke energy lost my paperwork...twice! Unfortunately they cut both my waterline and phone/internet line. They fixed my water but no internet or phone for a few days. How do you cut lines that are marked?

Ive also spent the same 9 weeks waiting on and dealing with an electrician. He is about halfway thru the job. He got it cause he was the only one to call me back. Does good work when he shows up. Suppose to finish it this week, pass inspection and Duke energy can flip the switch.

This has been a bigger project than I first imagined. I started in April, hoped to be done by The end of summer. Now I'm into next year. I'm also 10k over budget and that's including the extra 5k I knew something would take. And I have yet to even purchase the lift. Fortunately I made a few good stock investments during Covid that are really paying off now. So if Brandon doesn't ruin it (and he's trying) I should be able to finish it off.

So 3 weeks later my electrician is still MIA. Hasn't returned phone calls or texts. I clearly left him with instructions to have this done and inspected before I got home on Jan 5. He's had 21 days. I get home Wednesday night. He has until then to finish the job. I'm not calling him anymore. Ill just do it myself and take my chances with the inspector. I've been waiting on other people for 3 months now. I'm done waiting. What he don't know is I know how to do this and the questions I had about codes (only reason I hired him), he answered.

Two truck loads and 2 trailer loads of benches shelves and toolboxes. Got 90% of it in the shop. Got frustrated when one of my toolboxes fell over dumping all my sockets and breaking one of the drawers. I was already thinking about a new chest but not that piece. Its only 5 years old and was 1 of 2 of my best pieces I've added over the last 20 years. (I have a conglomeration). Further more its been discontinued and no parts to be found.

Just so happens Lowes has a Kobalt rolling tool cart on sale for 159. And I got 135 dollar store credit there. Not really what I want as its another footprint instead of stacking higher. But it'll do the job. And right now I just can't do a thousand dollar or more tool chest like I want. But I'm looking hard at the Harbor Freight stuff. May just think on it for a month as I have to go back to sea next Tuesday

Its official. At 1005am EST , Duke energy turned on the power. The building is done and I can stop spending money on it and get back to throwing it away on vehicles. Maybe next time home, Ill setup the benches and tools and maybe even bring one of the commanches in from the cold.411f2036a2f02e983bd1697a2d8634cd.jpg2bdaf6e80ce867f891ed619764e420b2.jpgc2d87cd0dfca283c6548d8e04570e064.jpga64c42dd7d146b3f766917d4626f0bc8.jpg
