What’s the most comprehensive kit you’ve seen for the front end that has like the track bar, drag link, pitman arm, ball joints etc. I’ve seen a few, but they are for 91 and up. Is there a difference between renix and HO? Or for the 2wd and 4wd?

why would you need to replace the pitman arm?

Didn’t mean to put that there! Was just listing steering parts off the top of my head

Is your goal to replace or upgrade steering components, suspension or both? There is no “kit” that includes ball joints with steering linkage. Best to piece these parts together so you can get good quality parts.

MOOG, spicer and Crown all have parts to build your "kit". Like ghetdjc said, Not one of them has a really all and done set up. MOOG for most the steering will be a good choice just avoid the budget line stuff. Spicer for ball joints. Crown for some other things. Is your MJ lifted or stock? HO and renix difference is only in the engine. Axles is really either CAD or non CAD. Exception being 96+ D30 as it should have the bigger u joints. IIRC there was also something differnet with the knuckles and not sure if that would affect ball joint choices.

Yep all pre 90 knuckles had a threaded lower insert to set the ball joint preload. The ball joint itself is really the same though (any differences are extreme negligible). My 91 D30 was non-cad and has the bigger u joints. Perhaps it was an abs axle???

Everything is stock. I just wanted to see if there was anything for a cheaper buy it all at once but I guess I’ll assemble it myself. But there shouldn’t be a difference for the length or mounting of the track bar, tie rod or anything like that if everything is stock, right?

No real kits.  Just jump on rockauto and add pieces to your cart.  That's probably the best place to get everything at once.

That's what I did for my XJ.

The '88 track bar part number was superseded by the late model track bar. The early ones didn't have a grease fitting -- the later ones do.

Would y’all consider mevotech a good brand?

I see them offered on Rock Auto all the time, usually a prices lower than Moog, etc.   I would use Mevotech brand stuff if I was on a budget or if I wasn't planning on doing any heavy duty driving in my MJ.    Otherwise, stick to the brands known to be leaders in suspension/steering parts, such as Dana, Moog, etc.

As was mentioned, Moog and Spicer along with oem Mopar are all decent components. If your wanting new steering linkage then consider replacing your tie rod with the Moog tie rod for the grand Cherokee (ZJ). It’s a much stronger unit over the original. That swap is very well documented as are the part numbers you need. Bolts right in with zero mods.

I went with Moog ZJ components for my MJ but have not installed them yet to verify mod-less fitment, I'm busy with an 8.8 axle swap at the moment, to be wrapped up as soon as the weather improves. I could send you the Rockauto invoice if the parts are compatible with your MJ...
