With my luck I'd end up melting them in the oven lol I've had good luck with just polish if you're in to elbow grease if you paint, do make sure you paint them under ideal conditions. I got impatient with some XJ tails and the clear fogged up in the coldish weather.
Pete M Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 wet sand 2k? sure. I use the bathroom sink. I then end with 3k and/or a polish. but depending on how degraded they are, you might even need to start with a more course grain.

89 MJ Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 Looks great! I might need to try this on one of my sets of taillights.

89 MJ Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 Would the end product be the same if it isn't baked in an oven? I am hesitant to put my nice taillights in the oven, and my mom doesn't want them in her oven.
watchamakalit Posted December 24, 2020 Posted December 24, 2020 I did mine with a headlight restoration kit. Worked pretty good. Good enough for a daily for sure but definitely as nice as many. Just wanted to throw a quick fix idea in for us lazy folk. Lol
