mjeff87
I always try to buy a firearm every black Friday. Last year was twin 9mm's for me and the wife, year before was a 12 ga pump shotty. This year, thanks to the covid and the ensuing ammo shortage, I grabbed a .22 semi auto rifle. Mossberg 702 "plinkster". All composite stock, only weighs 4.0 lbs (not kitted out). 19" barrel, fiberoptic sights, 10 round mag....pretty sporty little shooter IMO. I'm conserving all my other ammo, especially 9mm (but I did get 8 boxes from the same store when I bought the rifle lol). We have plenty of .22lr on hand, so I'll be able to keep regular range time with it and not really have to worry about the ammo. I do have a 50 round drum mag up in the closet for my wife's AR that should fit this thing too Anyone else snag anything good today?
strictlyxjs
Ive been eyeing the 715t but no one seems to have it in stock. Its essentially a plinkster in a tactical outfit.

mjeff87
Yeah, they didn't have the 715. Only had about 20 of the 702's as well....I went early. Surprisingly dead there, and every other place around too. I'm off Monday, I might hit up the range with it and a couple hundred rounds. I'd like to put a small scope on it, but still be able to keep the stock sights it came with. The older I get, the worse my focus is with sights. With my glasses on, I can use the front one and see the target, but the rear one is fuzzy. Take my glasses off and its just the opposite

Dzimm
Wow you have brass cased ammo on the shelves!?!? I got lucky at Bass Pro a few weeks ago, I walked up to the ammo as the lady was stocking 9mm. Within two minutes the shelf was empty again. All the brass is now completely gone (even the weird/uncommon calibers) and we are down to only 7-1/2, 8, and 9 shot shells. No game loads anymore. Even fishing leads have been unobtainable, I assume to people casting their own bullets. I'm really hurting on my supply, am about to go use up the last box of game loads I've got on some pheasant today and have very little brass left. For black friday we bought a RuffLand kennel for the van. My wife does dog sports with our three dogs and does a ton of driving so we wanted to get something safer for the dogs than the wire cages. These kennels are super expensive so I told her we can get one now and have to buy them one at a time. I secretly bought 3 of them so she will be getting her Christmas present early! I bought a CZ P-07 back in April and somehow I still haven't shot a single real round through it yet. I guess that's lucky because it means I'm still sitting on about 1000 rounds of quality 9mm. But with the shortage, it makes my tight-@$$ instinct kick in and not want to shoot any of my stash

In later 2016, I bought a Savage-Axis 270 XP II. 20 rounds have been through that gun. LOL

Thats $200 worth of 9mm (Brazilian, but what the hell....so is the 702 i bought lol). I might go get 2 more boxes to make it an even 500 rounds. That gets me back into my comfort zone, for now. mjeff87
Went back down and got 2 more boxes of 9 plus a soft carry case for the .22 (going to the range tomorrow to shoot it some). But, I found my penultimate Christmas gift there....they wheeled out a whole pallet of flame throwers. I would be lying if I said I wasn't thinking about going back this week and picking one up. Dumble_hub
Picked up a 43X on sale for 10% off and the last box of 9mm on the shelf. I need to find some time to go to the range.
