If you're talking about integrating headrests into a bench from scratch, that's more challenging, but where there's a welder and a will, there's a way. Pete M Posted November 12, 2020 Share Posted November 12, 2020 that's... harder than you might think. from what I remember the foam is not easily removed. at least not without destroying it. as if the frame was stuck into the mold and the foam than injected around it. I have friends that have put their head through the back glass after the smallest of fender benders. some still live with pain from the accident a decade later. the answer is to swap. this chap had a passenger. It looks like the bottom seat foam was formed around the top of the springs, but I don't know how the back was designed. It would be nice if the back foam can be removed without severe destruction. The best case would be removable foam front and the springs on the back side. I'd be happy as a clam if I just need to weld on a bracket and the headrest mechanism from a bucket seat.
