I haven't torqued it down yet, but it looks like if I do it will bend the shackle in some. Should I use some washers or just torque down. Thanks

I'll bite. When I installed my Belltech shackles (for a Chevy 1500)  they had that much gap. I just torqued to spec, have yet to see any warpage in the metal.

I should say I reused the stock hardware. Looks like you have new and it might not have enough threading to bring it in all the way.

Yea the threading looks like it might be a little short, but to get it on the road I think ill torque down for now. Appreciate the replies!

Space wise they are like the Crown's I bought a few years ago.  Returned them.  You could put washers in them to take up the space or find an alternative.  Otherwise it seems you would get a rapid wear pattern due to the slosh in the action of the spring on the bolt.  Tightening it down might work okay but there is going to be some odd wear there too.  Washers would remedy any threading problem if there is one.

Add washers to space it properly.  Crushing the shackle will make for problems if you have to disassemble it later.

Thanks for the input guys, much better with washers, finally finished/torqued down. Got to go for a ride and it was good. Prob not for the guy that crashed his Corvette C3 into a pole on an empty 3 lane road tho.8557c2528ffd3325734b011c0eb67051.jpg
