As fiatslug87 said, the factory emblems were held on with double sided tape so there were no holes.  Is it the original tailgate to the truck as far as you know?

 

Dealer tag of some kind would be my guess, can't believe they would put holes in it though.  Maybe a PO did it? :dunno:

That seems like a typical place for a dealer badge. Otherwise, no idea.

 

If I were buying the truck new, there would be absolutely no words for how pissed I would be if the dealer drilled holes in the tailgate for their stupid badge.

You can take a sticker off, someone is a lot less likely to remove a dealers badge if it's actually mounted to the truck.  It would be pure evil but I could see a dealer going that far for a little advertising.

Command-Trac and Selec-Trac emblems, but neither had locating pins.
