Cool no headrests. Heard that was an option.

It was actually. Looking at one of my accessory catalogs, there’s a section on headrests for the XJ, you can get a kit of headrests without material on them and then you could buy the material as a kit, which explains the one headrest kit I have.

How in the hell do y’all do transmission work with the t-case still attached!? Haha.
i had to replace the front bearing gasket on the transmission and that was a fun 5 1/2 hours of labor to just change a gasket. But bright side, no leaks and all systems normal on the system sentry! Hopefully I shouldn’t have gear oil leaking again.

Discovered this gem today

Yeah! 6 month old clutch disc just broken. Not sure how or why but just broke. Not even from China either. Looks like it was made in Brazil. Guess I put the old one in and run it for a little while.

Nice find :jammin:

Haha Thanks!

I also fixed my power locks....I had them working right before I put the interior together. My guess is the power seats being in circuit probably dragged down the voltage. Anywho! Locks work wickedly fast thanks to a step up converter and now the hatch solenoid now locks the hatch.

Well ran into fuel pump problems again. Threw a NOS one at the unit and its been fine. Then the gauge rheostat gave up. Addressed it on sunday. Turned out it was a dirty terminal and the were crud built up on the float arm contact. That was weird to see. Got that fixed and now the gauge is right.

Also had to move my roommates journey, used the XJ to tow it into the yard for a moment and man that 2wd low, best mod haha. Now I wouldnt do it over a long distance nor want to do it again.

Got the AC dialed in finally! After rigorous research, consulting my manuals and a weird tip to treat RB-276 as R12, I was finally able to get it to produce 40* air. Woot!! Couple factors, you cant clear the sight glass with 276 to get good performance which thankfully I didnt do....yet. And hooking a manifold up was able to help me dial in the adjustable expansion valve.

Its the little things, but this one feels major for out here.

Does 276 cool as well as r12?  Not that it matters since I have a stashed away can of r12 waiting in the wings..... Guess I'm just curious. Lol

Lol.

I say yes it does do a pretty good job. I only got to experience the R12 for a little bit before it all leaked out and they’re pretty similar in performance. I think the only issue is gonna be cooling the condenser probably which might result in my putting a e-fan on it to help force air though. We will see.
