ratty
Hello. I have been having an issue with my 88 Comanche. 1 out of 5 times (more or less) when I start my engine, the rpms rise to 4000 and stay there until I unplug the 3 prong part of the TPS sensor. My truck is an automatic so it has the 3 and 4 prong clips. After I unplug it, the rpms go back down to normal. I plug it back in and everything is fine. I thought my sensor was bad so I just replaced it with a new one. But lo and behold the same thing happened when I went to start my truck, testing out the new sensor. I'm not sure what to check now. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

54bobby
not sure if this would apply but did you disconnect the battery so the ecu can relearn and recognize the new tps?

87MJTIM
In today's world of the internet and smart phones, these trucks are using DOS. They were smart...for their time.
