Jeep Driver
If you are seeking high quality auxiliary lighting- https://headlightrevolution.com/jw-speaker-model-ts4000-12-24v-7-round-black-high-beam-pedestal-mount-auxiliary-2-light-kit/ Those would be very nice as a bumper mount light, particularly on an aftermarket bumper. This is a really good deal, half price of some retailers and this is the next best price- https://www.quadratec.com/p/jw-speaker/7-round-led-auxiliary-lights-model-ts4000 I would definitely be chasing this if I were not going in a different direction. I can attest to the quality of JW Speaker, first rate.
Dzimm
I'm genuinely curious, what exactly is the draw for crazy expensive lights when a comparable light can be had for fractions of the price? I get regular headlights due to the less than ideal beam pattern in some of the cheap ones (blinding oncoming traffic) but for Aux lights for offroad use like these, you won't be shining them in anyone's face on the trail. I've also personally never had or seen any quality issues with cheap lights and have actually been impressed of the quality of some. Who was it on here (Krusty maybe?) That did the test a while back of a super expensive light bar compared to a cheapo eBay one and the results were pretty much the same as far as performance. Like I said, just genuinely curious about the reasoning behind it, not trying to start a massive debate on cheap vs expensive lights.

Ebay lights do not come with a lifetime warranty. There is no comparison. Quality/quantity of usable light, quality of housing/finish, quality of lens, quality of appearance. There are three companies worthy of consideration, JW Speaker, VisionX, Baja Designs. I'm choosing VisionX Light Cannons, usable light to 3/4 of a mile, there is nothing on the market that is advertised to reach that distance. Lifetime warranty. I've learned my lesson, choose wisely, buy once.
schardein
In my off road Jeep, I've bashed/smashed/broken enough auxiliary lights that I don't even bother with them anymore. I installed some good headlights, fed them operating voltage through relays, and called it done. I've never broken a headlight, although I did have some H4 housings develop rust inside after being submerged under water that eventually required replacing. I run old school halogen Hella 550 driving lights on my Chevy, XJ, and MJ. They produce some extra light to help, is about the best I can say about them. But again, I installed the Xtravision headlights in the XJ and MJ, and they do ok. I have hid bulbs in the low beams of the Chevy and they do great. Moral of the story is I made a decision a long time ago to only spend money, whether it's a lot or a little, on aux lights after I upgraded my headlights. In the desert and such that could be a life saver. Looking at it that way if you use them a lot and depend on them working it'd be a given to get the expensive ones, even I suppose for an enthusiast that likes good quality lighting (thinking audiophile). I just personally couldn't justify the cost but then again I rarely ever use AUX lights and certainly wouldn't to the full potential of the high end ones. johnj92131
First, I am not an off roader, so maybe my input is not with listening to. On my now departed 91 Comanche, I had a set of TruckLite led headlamps. They provided all the visibility I needed on a trip from San Diego to Vancouver, to upper Michigan, to Charlotte NC and back home to San Diego. Get a great set of headlamps first. See if that doesn't fix your off road problem.
Pete M
I have this discussion with a buddy of mine all the time. He keeps trying to get me to buy a better quality pocket knife (he bought one in excess of $150 while I carry an old Leatherman Juice in desperate need of a sharpening), and I keep trying to get him to buy a better quality flashlight (I've got a $75 Fenix and he has a $10 something-or-other that's just... pathetic). each of us has different techno-phile passions. I can definitely see myself buying a top notch offroad light if I could afford it. Just because I want the best. The $40 chineseum bar I bought has some definite disadvantages. JMO413
I think price and how often they will be used are both of equal merit. I have no need for expensive lights beacuse I will very rarely use them. If I needed them more often I would definitely invest in the higher end lights. For now I will keep my Elcheapo set that came on my truck. These two make more light than I can ever use!
