Seems the rail company will just run them through the shredder when that happens. Too much liability sending them back out on the road. 

Too bad. I'm in southern Idaho right now, was wondering how far it was to go snag a pair of the max tow axles...

I bet they do.   apparently that one could have been much worse, as there were some hazmat tankers super close to being part of the derailment.
