HI-CNTRD - 1990 XJ Project

Recommended Posts

What I thought would take an hour ended up taking a few more. I decided to get the full soft top on the Scrambler. I knew there would be a learning curve putting it on since I haven’t touch it in 8 years. I found the top and frame work pretty quickly. I took an inventory of the parts and realized that I was missing a few important pieces 🤬. I wen through boxes of Jeep parts and and found all but one piece; a section of support rod. Good for me that that was the only thing missing because I went to Lowes and grab a matching diameter rod :applause:. I forgot how good the top looks on ->

I was told by the company that make the cover that it would not fit the Jeep with a full hard top which sucks because the rain collects in the back and pulls the front back. I am very happy they are wrong ->

The Cherokee will be going up for sale after I get a few things fixed. I am going to keep my Comanche and this would have to be stored on the property rotting away like the MJ unfortunately did. Here will be the ad I place on BaT or something similar. I haven’t taken pictures yet because I’m presently out of town. I started to get the ad written up, so I will prep it here so when I am ready I can cut and paste it where I decide to list it. I have to research what to list it at. I can't total what I have in it to compare to what it is worth. Just a bad idea to do.

For Sale an 1990 Two Door Jeep Cherokee (XJ) 4x4 Laredo

This is my daily driver. Only been taken out a few times on sandy trails – no mud since I’ve owned it. Never intended to sell it, so I put everything in to it.

Had the Cherokee down at Aamco transmission for them to check out the quirks in the transmission. They rebuilt it the first part of last year. Pretty much had it the whole time I was away working - 8 months 😳. Three weeks ago, I called and they said it was going on the rack that day. He called me back an hour later asking if I had a kill switch in it, because they couldn’t get it to start. I stopped by to see where they were at. They said it was some rodents had eaten some wiring and they fixed it. While working on it the hood cable broke, so they replaced it and also had to put in a new coil and kick down cable. It’s done though. Bringing it to the shop to have them fix a few things next week then it’s going up for sale.
