drove across Atlanta to pick up some MJ leafs from Chris then swung by pullapart south on the way back and scored a tailgate, taillights, rear flares, rain deflectors, b-pillar vents and an emblem.  :D

oh, and a handful of visor clips for the Liberty.    (they are fragile as hell)

MJs are rare to find in any yard these days, I just got lucky to be first on the scene. :D  (although the seats and belts were gone :dunno:)

the gate has a deep dent right below the P that has tweaked the lower structure of the gate. :(   but since the handle works, I'm likely going to swap it onto my MJ trailer.  the flares and lights are also destined for the trailer.  maybe this summer I'll swap a decent bumper on it and finally paint it!  I mean, it's the only MJ I've got that's road worthy so it might as well look good, right?  :D  I wonder what color I should go with...

if pull-a-part had better prices for chunks of sheetmetal I'd go back for rockers and bedsides.  :(

That's a great score!  The junkyards around here have never seen a Comanche and those that have, haven't seen one in years.  Most don't have more than a couple XJs at most anymore, if any.

That sounds like the ones around here too.   The one I go to most is a bit frustrating.   I was there last week to pick a '89 XJ which was pretty close to what I have.   It's the first one of that age that I've seen in a while.  Definitely no MJ's!   I got some great stuff but it's frustrating to leave things behind.  Pulling engines, gear boxes, axles, etc. by yourself with only the tools you can haul in and out is bit tough.   It's strictly a YOU pick and pull.   What doesn't get pulled eventually gets scrapped.   They won't pull anything for you or any local shops in search of parts.   Tons of great parts end up getting crushed.

went back today with the hope of cutting out the rockers but gave up and grabbed a fuel pump assembly, throttle body and some sensors instead. :D  should have grabbed the ebrake too but didn't think of it. :(   oh, and some Liberty stuff too (tow hooks, rear gate release, vents that actually move, and a mirror switch).

Pete.....if you ever see a decent KJ hitch wiring assembly in your 'yards and don't mind it, could you pick one up for me?  I had the free OEM hitch installed on mine but no wiring, and I'd like to be able to hook up trailer lights if I ever pull one.  I'd rather install a plug/play harness instead of cobbling some aftermarket stuff together and all the KJ's I've seen at my yards either don't have the harness or they're hashed.

etrailer.com should have plug and play harnesses for the KJ. I know they still do for the XJ.

:applause:

Pete.......:thanks:

If you come across one, PM me and I'll hook you up.

Frank....wow....thanks for the tip!  I didn't think they were that inexpensive.  If I can't get one from the 'yard, etrailer looks like a great option.
