ftpiercecracker1
I'm in the market for a new-to-me truck. I'm just a handyman so I don't need anything beyond a 1500. $4000 is going to be my maximum if buying from a private party, more if I go through a buy-here-pay-here. Which is another question I have. Would you rather go private party and maybe not get quite as nice a truck or go buy here pay here and make payments on a nicer vehicle? I like first gen tundras, zr2 s10, old Mazda trucks, don't know much about Rangers. Here are a couple trucks that have caught my attention. https://tampa.craigslist.org/hil/cto/6305419863.html https://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/6333810449.html https://spacecoast.craigslist.org/cto/6313939928.html
krustyballer16
I would personally trust a private party more than a buy here pay here...Take your time and shop around. Don't settle for the first truck you find. Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk
whowey
The local buy here place to me sells alot nicer vehicles than most private sellers. His philosophy is you are less likely to make your payments if you get something that is breaking down all the time. Fernando87mj
I've been dd a first gen tundra for a while and I like it , it's reliable ,easy to work on , plenty of power. but the only problem is that it's a gas hog, if you plan On getting a tundra with the v8 be weary that it's a timing belt engine and the belt is due every 90k
Minuit
Comanche? You are asking this on CC after all. Tundras are very nice trucks. That's what I would go with too. Do these have the frame rust problem, or was that just the Tacoma?
johnj92131
The Tundra is the best truck of the 3 you posted. Best resale value also, when it comes time to sell. Next best is the B2600. But for $300, I would be hard pressed to pass on the Tundra. Many of the buy here, pay here shops are for the people with no money and bad credit history. To me, it means they sell junk at bad prices and bad terms. But I don't need them by buy a car.
ftpiercecracker1
I am strongly leaning towards getting a tundra as well, if I can find one in my price range. Its a really well proportioned truck IMO. My parents have an 00 model that just clicked over 310k and that truck has seen some serious abuse and neglect. Oh the stories I could tell. Only ever had to replace the radiator once and a window switch, that's it, besides the normal tires and brakes. I'll report back when and if I find something. Jeep Driver
https://tampa.craigslist.org/hil/cto/d/2002-nissan-frontier-xe-crew/6333255078.html I'm partial to Nissan now........I'd offer $3500 and prepare to walk. That would be a good deal. Just my opinion........having had a couple of them now, I'd have nothing but a 4 door. 4x would be nice, I'll have nothing but.........however, you're in FL. DirtyComanche
I'd buy a 1500 GM truck with the 4.8/5.3 engine. They're cheap, solid, easy to work on, good fuel economy, minimal major issues with components. Just avoid the earlier Flexfuel/E85 compatible ones. IMHO they make the Tundra look like an overpriced pile...
jeeppapa
You may get a nicer truck through buy here pay here but your interest is going kill you. Take your time find something good that you are happy with. By it with cash. Every month you don't make a payment is money you keep in the bank. The name of the game is accumulate your own wealth not to make other men wealthy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
