Pete M Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Since I'm going to be gone until August 13th and won't be able to continue my research into trying to find a cap place that allows me to get quality caps in various colors until I get back, I'm starting a poll to see if there's enough interest in a Comanche Club ball cap where they are all a nice neutral color like tan/khaki. This is not anything official, just a poll. If you've already stated it's cool with you, please post again in the poll anyway. To refresh everyones memory, the caps are made in the USA and essentially it'd look like this: A low profile ball cap with a version of this stitched on the front: And I'm thinking of "ComancheClub.com" stitched in an arc across the back. We'd be going with the strap on the left.
ORCA Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 i were ball caps but i hate style of hat I would have to agree. Flex-fit all the way. And I didn't vote yes because I thought olive green or black would be cooler. Just my 2 peanuts.
GirsMJ86 Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 They look nice and all, and the USA is a plus. I will say that the strap style on the right seems to hold a better grip on the strap itself, the other style can slip over time. But as for the colors, I wouldn't be able to wear tan around the farm. That is just asking to get coated with grease and oil. Something dark like Black with white stitching, Navy with a gray stitching, or Olive Drab with a tan stitching would be great. Maybe offer one dark color and one light color? Flex-Fits are nice but I don't know of any made in the USA. Plus then you have to get a bunch in different sizes. So as long as they are ball caps and not trucker hats I am game, with different colors that is. Alex
Pete M Posted August 19, 2007 Author Posted August 19, 2007 As of right now, all the hats would have to be identical. I thought khaki might appeal to the most people as it's a nice neutral color Theoretically it shouldn't be too hard for individuals to dye their hat a darker color but I've never tried that myself. I've forgotten what the other available colors are, but I'll post them up once I find out again. Flex-fit wasn't an option with this company. Oh, and a trick I learned from my Aunt for keeping an adjustable strap in place if it's moving on you is to hit it with a few stitches of thread. Tomorrow is my last final, so later this week I can pick up where I left off with research. I never did hear back from the cap company directly. :(
Stumpy Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 whatever is picked i will buy!!! although my wife will say i don't need anymore hats..lol :brows:

Pete M Posted September 8, 2007 Author Posted September 8, 2007 Ok, if this many people all find the khaki hat acceptable, I'm going to run with it. So later this week I'll swing by the sticker shop and confirm all the details and prices and then I'll start a new post to get an official hat total. In the meantime I'll see what needs to be done to alter our logo to suit the hat.

Oizarod115 Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 i'll finally get to retire my old hat... its been through 2 1/2 harsh years of everyday (and i mean everyday) wear.
JOMJ87 Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 I got a hat thats atleast 7 years old. Its stapled and taped and stitched together. IT has been thru alot and sometimes i still have to wear it just for old time sake. Its sorta just on a shelf sitting there 99% of the time cause i can't bring myself to throw it away. Cole
Pete M Posted September 9, 2007 Author Posted September 9, 2007 I had a hat like that once. Finally retired it the way they retire old US flags; cremation (on a campfire for me). Throwing it away like a piece of trash just seemed wrong.
Chase The Hero Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 can't say i can beat that but ive got one thats lived through only a year but has been through everything, especially the puppy my dad got. FYI puppies+hat=rag with a strap.
Pete M Posted October 5, 2007 Author Posted October 5, 2007 Yeah, yeah, I know. It's just been on the back burner. :(
BLHTAZ Posted October 7, 2007 Posted October 7, 2007 I haven't been around in a while, but I would be in for a hat when they are ready. I wear hats constantly and own near 100 of them right now.
Chase The Hero Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 man when they come get a pic too itll be awsome. i will say that you have a complete merchandizing area when you have: 1) Bumper stickers (done) :D 2)A Hat (in progress) :D 3)A T-Shirt  (ill get one) 4)a Belt Buckle (i wish) :brows:
Pete M Posted October 13, 2007 Author Posted October 13, 2007 T-shirts should be in our future some day. Belt buckles? I wouldn't have a clue how to go about doing that.
Chase The Hero Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 you could make them of alum foil, or hire a boy scout camp to make them :chillin: . either way id like a hat once they come out (under 30$ would be nice)
Pete M Posted November 3, 2007 Author Posted November 3, 2007 I talked with the guy today and he'll call up the hat company early next week and get back to me with the official current prices. Once I have those I'll start a new post with a breakdown of the costs and start taking orders with who wants what (hats and can cozies) and everyone can start sending over the monies. I figure once I have about half of the total needed, I'll place the order (I can't afford to cover the entire cost myself). Then when they come in I'll re-box 'em and ship them out to everyone.
martywarner Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 go to montanna silversmiths for belt buckles I think it would only be in the $250 apiece range
