MSD 6AL2 with 2 step rev limiter, anyone done an MSD box?

Seeing as a renix doesn't have a rev limiter... I want an MSD box. I'm looking at the 6AL2 with two step rev limiter and a new coil, total cost comes in around $350. Does anyone have any tips to share about installing an MSD box and new coil? If you've done it on your renix, any difference in power, mpg, smoothness etc

I used a Mallory coil for a very short time, I didn't notice a difference . From what I've read the factory ignition system is very decent.

Why do you need a rev limiter?  What has been done to the engine?

My TCU is the rev limiter.....4800 RPM

The only rev limiter you need is your right foot.

I mounted my MSD 6AL in a metal box on a hinged bracket I made.  MSD blaster coil is bolted to firewall.  The metal box was in a trash can at work from a machine that had a power supply and was scrapped.  They let me have it.  Cleaned it and painted it.

I put a full MSD system with rev limiter in my 67 CJ5 after toasting a motor during an extended high rpm hillclimb.  Toasted the next motor during a "to high" water crossing... you lose some, and you lose some more...
