ComancheFan
Since it looks like it will be impossible for me to find a NOS rear bumper for under $500 I have decided to update this and look for a nice factory bumper. It can't have rust or be twisted. With good end caps. If it's been repainted that's ok just pm me your price. Thanks
shelbyluvv
They are probably the single most rare part for a MJ. I have a black NOS bumper that I have turned down offers of $700+. Where will I get another one if I sell it? PM Butchershop, he had a chrome one in northern Georgia. Good luck!
Strokermjcomanche
Jeepco mentions in this thread that 23 bumpers are in a warehouse with no additional info , but it's a lead .. http://comancheclub.com/topic/39619-chrome-step-bumperfoundmaybe/

ComancheFan
How rare is a NOS tailgate? I managed to get one about 8 months ago for $250 shipped and was just wondering how lucky of a find that was,
shelbyluvv
Finding anything NOS is a rare find. Tailgates are not all that rare though. They can be bought in good shape for $25 from a pick and pull.
gogmorgo
But an actual NOS tailgate? Don't think I've ever seen one come up before.
ComancheFan
Unfortunately the pick and pulls around me don't have many jeeps I was lucky to find a 4 door xj with solid doors let alone a Comanche. The fact that the tailgate is brand new and doesn't have a scrape or Ding on it makes it worth every penny since I don't have to do any body work. And yeah it's really cool I think it might be a leftover that never made it onto a truck or was removed before paint. It came with black etch coating on it and a VIN number written on the inside but there was no hardware. There is a picture of it after I painted the inside half of it on my Chief build. shelbyluvv
NOS or not a tailgate isn't rare. Finding one is easy. Members here have 10-15 in their hoards. I have 5 perfect rust free gates. How many dent and rust free stock bumpers do you see? Not all that many. That is my point.
ComancheFan
I was just wondering as I have never seen a new old stock tailgate before and I tought it was kind of cool nevertheless.
Bonkers
A NOS tailgate is pretty cool, but not as cool as that NOS HO Pump/Sender that was found last year. I can't even find a used decent HO setup for my build. Personally i think you did alright with that tailgate CF, in a few years youll get your money back on that one - no shop is going to risk a "perfect, dent free" vs a NOS part on a critical build. Just wait it out...
