Key Parts Tail Lenses
ComancheFan replied to CrustyBoy's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
I have been following them on eBay for over 3 months now. Checked today and was shocked to see their in stock and already almost gone. I hope they keep running batches of these. -
Yeah it's never been out before. I need to pull it because it's leaking and I'm starting to get rust bubbles around the seal. The gasket is still rubbery and not dried out so I'm hoping it goes easy.

Yeah I have replaced a few windshield in jeeps before. From experience hitting the glass with the wire isn't good 😂. If there's a steel frame around it it's something I think I'll be able to do.

I'm looking to remove my rear slide window. There is a good write up on here in how to do it. However I'm debating on doing it myself or bringing it to a professional. My concern is accidentally hitting the glass when I go to cut it out and breaking the window. I'm wondering once I get the rubber trim worked out will I be cutting around a metal frame that holds the glass or is the glass itself glued to the truck?

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to start with upgrading the stock wiring with the Big 7 kit from Paul. It's definitely not a belt, I can see how not charging at higher rpms would make it seem likely. While watching the installation video on the big 7 I noticed the alternator positive wire goes to a relay box just behind the battery that then distributes the power to the rest of the jeep. I think I remember my jeep not starting in the past and tapping on the box made it start it's been a while so I can't remember if it's same box.

I've been having a issue with my charging system in my 4.0 renix Comanche. The jeep charges fine at idle and while driving if the rpms are below 1500. Anything above that and my voltage drops down to 12. I know it isn't a gauge issue because if I'm driving at night I can see my headlights get noticeably dimmer when the voltage drops. I have tried a new alternator and the problem persists. My old alternator tested good at AutoZone. I'm not sure where in the system to even look for a bad ground? Possible a relay?

Due to unfortunately events I need a entire fiberglass front clip and a stock front bumper. I'm located in Florida and will be driving up I75 to the North Carolina Tenesee Boarder in 3 days. If someone has or knows of any yards that have what I'm looking for along the way that would be awesome. I was able to find a fender locally.

I just placed a order for a set of the boxes. When they come in within the next month or so I'll be sure to share pictures of how they look. My tail lights look like they have been hit with a sand blaster and anything will be better than what I have.

Looking for a decent set of MJ tail lights that can be polished out to look good.

Jeep comanche trailer wiring harnesses
ComancheFan replied to 88mjsally's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
I just got mine today. Looks really nice can't wait to install it. Thanks for the harness! -
Ok so I called Crystler with my Vin. What they were able to tell me is my jeep had a ac unit installed at the dealer about 6 months after it was purchased in Connecticut. Probably right before the original owner brought it to Florida. I don't imagine this being a common wiring harness to find? Here's what I'm thinking my truck has 315k miles on it and is starting to get tired. There is a 1991 Xj on Facebook with 140k miles for $400 with a slipping transmission. I know it won't be easy but I'm thinking about completely getting rid of the hacked up renix system and using the Xj as a donor.

Yeah it's really upsetting. My dad owned the truck for 20 years and had 95% of his work done at a local shop. Everything I try and do on this truck ends up being a endless project.

Ok, I don't believe I have a low pressure switch. Someone has changed quite a lot of my original cooling system. I'll send pics if what I have when I get home.

Ok. So I'm missing a wire for the D and A plug on the C236. The bare wires were to the radio. I just put butt connectors in the place. And I did the same where the harnesses have been cut into. In the c236 plug what do the D and A wires go to?
-
Now that I think about it should that black plug have more than just the two wires connecting to the 5 plug?
-
-
With the brown fan speed plug unplugged it does nothing. With the black 2 wire switch unplugged it still melts the fuse.

Ok I cleaned the connections and the resistor. The fuse is still melting. I felt the wires that go to the blower and the resister. Neither are getting warm if that helps narrow down my problem.

-
Well here's what it looks like I'm going to get abd clean up the connections. It appears the connector has been replaced once.

It has seen better days. There's a lot of wires that are spliced into and wires that are cut in the harnesses around the panel. The issue is I'm not sure what the wiring should look like.
