  1. I have recently changed my rusted Mj doors for a pair of 1995 Xj doors. When removeing the lock cylinder I lost the little plastic retainer clip that holds the linkage rod to the little metal piece in the picture. My drivers door has a different clip that looks like any other linkage rod retaining clip. The one for my passenger door and the one I'm missing is a small piece of plastic that goes on the linkage rod and the metal piece sits in the middle of and prevents it from sliding on the rod. Hopefully someone knows what it's called or has one.
  2. I'm looking for a factory jeep bed mat in good shape will need to be shipped to Fort Myers, Florida.
  3. I was just wondering as I have never seen a new old stock tailgate before and I tought it was kind of cool nevertheless.
  4. Just some pictures of the freshly painted jams. Not quite Colorado red but it will work.
  5. Unfortunately the pick and pulls around me don't have many jeeps I was lucky to find a 4 door xj with solid doors let alone a Comanche. The fact that the tailgate is brand new and doesn't have a scrape or Ding on it makes it worth every penny since I don't have to do any body work. And yeah it's really cool I think it might be a leftover that never made it onto a truck or was removed before paint. It came with black etch coating on it and a VIN number written on the inside but there was no hardware. There is a picture of it after I painted the inside half of it on my Chief build.
  6. Some more pre paint pictures.
  7. There was no rust under the fender flares!
  8. Ok I finally got around to starting. The restoration here's a picture of the bucket seats in the Comanche.
  9. How rare is a NOS tailgate? I managed to get one about 8 months ago for $250 shipped and was just wondering how lucky of a find that was,
  10. Since it looks like it will be impossible for me to find a NOS rear bumper for under $500 I have decided to update this and look for a nice factory bumper. It can't have rust or be twisted. With good end caps. If it's been repainted that's ok just pm me your price. Thanks
  11. I'm looking for a comanche tailgate in good shape with no rust. The tailgate will need to be shipped to 33908 Fort Myers, Florida. I figure $70-100 in shipping cost plus what you want for the tailgate.
  12. Verry nice truck it's come a long way.
  13. I do need to go back to that salvage yard I didn't even make it to where all the Jeeps were when my friend spotted the XJ about halfway to where the domestic cars should be. I was expecting to find a 4 door and have seats that didn't fold forward, I was overjoyed when I saw it still had the seats. So I need the locks and window switches and all the wireing, then I can find a 4 door XJ and put the 2 door switches on them?
  14. So today I managed to find a set of bucket seats at my local U-Pull they are in decent shape and will be just fine with a tan seat cover on them to match my interior. Just need to find a tan console that I didn't think about looking for while I was there. Oh well looks like a excuse to go to another lot and look for MJ that I can get a tailgate from.
  15. So I picked up a set of bucket seats today out of a 2 door XJ not sure what year it was but it did have power windows if that narrows it down any. Anyway i'm looking to install them into my 1988 MJ that currently has a bench seat in it and i'm wondering how I would go about doing so. Do I use the bracket off my bench seat and cut the bracket off the bucket seat and weld them together? I would also like to find a console that will fit. Dose it matter if the console is on a manual or a automatic? Also what year XJ will be a direct fit.
  16. Ok so the local salvage yard I went to today didn't have a single MJ on the lot. However it wasn't a wasted trip I did manage a 2 door XJ to pull the seats out of, I'm not sure what year XJ it was but it did have power windows.
  17. Thanks for the reply. I think I will head to my local U pull and see if they have a rust free Mj tailgate. Either way I would like to save this tailgate and keep it for a spare. I have done rust repair in the past and for the most part it has held up, then again I'm in Florida without salt on the roads and the repairs I have done were in the middle of a pannel. I guess we will have to see how it turns out.
  18. So my dad has agreed to sell me his 1988 Comanche Chief. He purchased it 20 years ago from the original owner.
  19. Ok so here are pictures of what i'm dealing with.
  20. Hello so within the next month my dad is finally selling me his 1988 Comanche Chief. He had it repainted about 12 years ago. Now the paint is starting to show its age and i'm looking to have it repainted. The bottom seam on the tailgate is rusted out and i'm wondering whats the best way to repair this before I have it repainted.
