what gears are in the axles?

3:55s as far as i know. i will be putting 410 axles from a 4cyl in it eventually. It has plenty of power on the highway it really just needs a 5th gear. I have the opportunity to get the ms1700 scanner as well as the renix self test computer from work. What are they worth? I want to make my boss a fair offer on them. My boss mistakenly threw a DRB2 in the trash and said he threw out the renix scanners by mistake too. Luckily i found the 2 renix scanners behind some boxes so i hid them lol.

Depends on who is looking for those scanners.

I kinda want them for my collection but would def lend them out to CC members if they needs to borrow them. The only reason i ask is I see the blue self tester on ebay all the time for around $70 but i rarely see the ms1700 listed on there.

Working on a little repaint and new decals for the hidden ramsey Rep6000.  I used rustoleum satin black on all the brackets and harware and rustoleum hammered dark grey on the winch body which very closely matches the original finish. Got it installed and working tonight went with a wireless remote setup... Need to reinstall my front bumper. Also picked up an np231 21 spline for the 4wd swap. Ordered the correct 10 slot grill for 22 bucks rock auto closeout!

Oh it’s been a while since I’ve searched. I already have one for the set up plus one from another member who got me one from the junkyard as a back up. But it looks like what you have except not home made lol. I’ll find a pic of it.

Took ride to pick up a new headliner from @acfortier. I recovered it along with the visors using the instructional video posted by tyler over at bleepinjeep. They came out pretty good. now to install them in the truck. Prob going to install the NOS cargo box lamp first so i don't have to take it down again.

I picked up a motor tranny and transfer case from a 98 2.5 tj today(only paid $150 I'm going to use the ax5 for my 4wd swap) ill bring it to work with me next saturday and redrill the holes for the t case clocking using the jig we have..20220123_201037.jpg.c42d1d7beb5028454796ba4e181a058d.jpg

i'll be using the bearing retainer and bellhousing from my ax4 as well as clutch fork to keep it external slave...

I'm giving the engine and transfer case to my boss since i have no use for them.

As far as i can tell the pressure plate and clutch  disk have the same p/n whether its an 86 or 98 so i will prob keep these ones because they are brand new.

Does anyone see anything wrong with these plans?

Only thing i wonder is the input shaft diameter between the two. :dunno:

otherwise it seems like you would have everything needed for the swap.

I was actually worried about that too. (You can see my measuring tape in The picture) i checked them with a set of calipers and they seem to be identical.

The older bearing retainer is a bit shorter so ill use it just in case.

Set out to work today with the goal of getting the ax5 ready20220205_184407.jpg.61a57df5d8583f4dd5ddbd8bfecfe841.jpg

I was able to clock the trans using my boss's clocking ring set up. I test bolted a random np231 on and it fit perfectly.
