Cracking Dash in '90 MJ

Anyone out there had luck with a carpeted dash cover? Mine's cracking up!

What color is your intierior? I have seen a couple carpet covers in the P-A-P yards

 

 

Well quit telling it jokes... but seriously i have seen a few carpet cover is a pull a part yards. they looked okay

I've had one in my MJ for 5-6 years.  It makes getting into the glove box a small PITA, otherwise it keeps dash nice AND keeps the inside windshield cleaner too.

I have another old car with a padded dash that is prone to dash cracks.  I was told to use Vaseline on it (sparingly of course).  Makes sense to me.  This is obviously prevention rather than a cure.

The carpet dash covers look stupid on these because of the wierd glove box.  A upholstery shop can cover it with vinyl which looks real nice.

How well do they fit because I might get one cause my dash is cracked right on top of the instrument cluster.

Mine's a perfect fit.  For my '89, it's two pieces.  One for the dash and one for the glovebox. It comes with velcro strips to hold it in place.
