Pretty sure I got the metric tonne package but mine looks like its only got 4 leave. Sent from my ASUS_Z01KD using Tapatalk -
I definitely don't plan on destroying the 87. It basically needs a new bed on it as well as floor pans. I might consider converting the 89 to a manual. I know I prefer a manual over an automatic. I know a lot more about manuals than autos. Sent from my ASUS_Z01KD using Tapatalk

I did most of what cruiser has mentioned above when I first got it. I can somewhat drive it with the TCM unhooked but it still does it. I also have an 87 MJ same everything but it's a 5 spd ax15. Was planning on fixing up the 87 but there's quite a bit of rust and I got rear ended in a parking a lot a year ago and insurance wouldn't do anything. A friend of mines neighbor has had this 89 for a while and he got put in a nursing home and I was told they was selling truck or scraping it so I bought it. Only had it a couple of months still messing with a lot of it don't get much time to work on it. Gonna try adjusting the tv cable tomorrow morning and see if it helps any. Will update after I try that. A mechanic friend of mine told me to check the screen/filter to see if it was dirty but haven't had time to do that yet. Picture is the 89. 87 is red one in background. I have an 89 MJ 4.0 4x4 Auto Aw4. The problem I'm having is when I get in to go somewhere I back the truck down my driveway shift into drive or 1st and start going down the road. I have to go up a hill either direction I go. When I start going up the hill I get to about 10mph and then the truck acts like its in neutral. I can give it some more gas and it still doesn't go. It will actually roll backwards down the hill while in drive. If I shift it into third it changes gear just fine but still acts like its in neutral. After some more revving and shifting back and forth it finally jerks like something coming unstuck and then drives like it should the rest of my drive. My driveway is an incline as well but the truck also does this after being parked on flat ground while I'm at work. My TPS tests good. All 3 transmission solenoids ohm good. The NSS is also good. It does this whether the TCM is hooked up or not. Fluid level is also correct. Only thing I havent done is pull the pan and check the screen or try adjusting the tv cable. Another idle issue post

The REM shows whether its in open/closed loop as well as whether the egr solenoid is on or off which would tell you if the valve is open or closed. Sent from my LG-H634 using Tapatalk -

1. It idles normally around 700-900 until it starts to warm up then the idle slowly increases by the 100's the longer the engine runs and sometimes when I First start it up it starts right away around 2k and never goes down. I can shut it off and restart and it will sometimes jump up and then go back to where its suppose to idle or it will idle even higher than 2k. One day I started it and it went straight to 3k. 3. The grommet and tube on back of valve cover are brand new as well as all the vacuum lines on and around the intake. 2. The egr is working as its suppose to I assume. It cycles open and closed at idle (700-900rpm) but only at idle. just wasn't sure how often its suppose to cycle when the egr opens the engine runs slightly smoother. I live in arkansas no inspections here. I do know my coolant temp sender on side of block is bad and my exhaust is pretty much non existent after the cat. Haven't been able to change the coolant temp sensor cause its been really cold and have no idea how to get to it without taking the intake off. Sent from my LG-H634 using Tapatalk -
First off, I have an 87 MJ 4.0 5 spd and yes I have cleaned the throttle body, iac, and adjusted the tps. Also have done most of cruisers tips on grounds and other stuff. Also have a REM Clock panel version. 1. First, every time I push my clutch in at a stoplight or to change gears I noticed It makes my engine idle 1000rpm higher. 2. Also is the egr valve suppose to be opening and closing while cruising down the highway and such because mine is not according to my REM as well as my vacuum pressure goes down the more I press the gas pedal. Not sure if it's suppose to go up or down. 3. Throttle body was pretty dirty. Was soaked with oil as well as air filter and box had oil in bottom of it. Ideas where it might be coming from. This is the second time this has happened to me. Here in Arkansas it's been raining a lot and last time this happened it was a real humid day just after a heavy rain so I'm thinking it has to do with the moisture. The issue is when I turn one of my turn signals on it shuts my radio off and the turn signal doesn't do anything. The first time it happened it fixed itself after a 15 minutes drive to town, this time it hasnt. Also this time when I turn my blower on to any setting but a.c.(no a.c. in my truck) it also turns the radio off and doesn't work. Any ideas as to a cause I am stumped on this one, my dad says it's probably a short somewhere but I wouldn't no the first place to look for one cause any other day it works perfectly fine. So I was sitting in my mj the other day while in town and went to put something in my glove box. I went to open it and it wouldn't so I thought maybe I locked it, so I stuck my key in and found out it was unlocked. So now my issue is my glove box with my registration and a couple other things are stuck in it. Any ideas how I can get it to open?? Of you ouch the button on the passenger side in it stays in unless I stuck something thin inside and push it back out. Sent from my LG-H634 using Tapatalk

A friend of mine with a 90 MJ pioneer is replacing his front axle seals and discovered this broken plastic piece. Any help with what it's called or even a part number would be nice. Its located behind the 4we actuator on the driver side of the axle housing. Here's the part: And here's where it's located: Sent from my LG-H634 using Tapatalk

Help Identify My Transmission
jdritchey98 replied to jdritchey98's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Ok any reccomendations on brand and how often to change it. I'm hoping to change it Monday as long as my new fill plug is here by then. Sent from my LG-H634 using Tapatalk I assume you got the fluid changed already, but I'll still entertain your questions. I use Mobil 1 in the transmission, the same as I use in the motor, and change it every other year because I do not daily drive the truck anymore. I think a yearly change would suffice in a daily driven truck.I'm just changing it cause I don't know when it was last changed. I'm gonna put valvoline synchromesh in it. Right now I'm fighting my rounded filler plug trying to get it out. Whenever I get a few miles on the valvoline I'll do a small short little post on how well it does.
