jimoshel
I know that everything from the firewall forward is identical on the XJ-MJ, but want to make sure that these aren't the exception. Fella wants $50 for them.
Pete M
yup, those will fit fine.
GregM
Because the original tow hooks were missing from my 77k mile MJ (where do they go???) I ordered "84-01 Jeep Cherokee Tow Hook pair Black 86-92 Comanche MJ Heavy Duty & brackets" from CustomTruckOnline on ebay for $93.99, including shipping. This is what you get: (Ok, I give up, I tried to link to Google+ and to Picassa but I can't get it to work. Use your imagination....) I haven't tried them yet to see how they fit. Probably should have looked around for originals, $50 looks like a good price.
Dadinator
Nice. Never could find any of those. Made a cheap solution for mine. Check the last page or 2 of my build for pics.
schardein
Important to make sure the bumper brackets are not bent. They are just the stock flimsy ones welded to the tow hook brackets. They are welded on pretty darn good and a bear to grind/cut off.
cruiser54
I've got a set I pulled off a 90 XJ I parted out. Never got around to putting them on.
GregM
The previous owner of my MJ claims it had skid plates too. Is there a good diagram somewhere that shows how the skid plates bolt ok? Is there a decent source for replacement skid plates?
Eagle
The previous owner of my MJ claims it had skid plates too. Is there a good diagram somewhere that shows how the skid plates bolt ok? Is there a decent source for replacement skid plates? If it had tow hooks from the factory, it also had skid plates: front, transfer case, and gas tank. Not too long ago I think someone (might even have been me) post an exploded view of the front skid installation. The other two are fairly easy to figure out. This may help: http://www.olypen.com/craigh/skid.htm There is no source for factory skids -- they don't exist. If you want the factory types, you need a junkyard. mjben
If it's only what's pictured, you're missing 3 brackets...
schardein
It looks like the 125ds is present on the left one in the picture. It should use a torx bolt for the single bolt hole on the end. Looks like the right one in the picture may indeed be missing that bracket. As for the other two brackets, aren't they already welded to the main bracket? I think those are what the tow hooks are actually bolted to in the picture.
Eagle
There are some parts missing. From the factory parts manual:
jimoshel
Don't believe it. Was out trying to clear a path from the door into the garage. Found two complete sets of tow hooks with all mounting hardware and a box full of parts. Can't seem to post a pic. Keeps coming out full size. jimoshel
I finally got a pic copied but it says I can't use that extension in this community. What ever in h*ll that means.
Eagle
Factory? The Custom 4x4 tow hook kit has brackets that are pretty near clones of the factory brackets --- with one exception. If you look at the ones in Jim's opening photo, there are two sets of holes. The brackets are mounted using the forward set of holes if you just want tow hooks. If you use the rear set of mounting holes, it moves the bumber out by six or eight inches to provide space for the Hidden Winch option.

fiatslug87
I've pulled several OEM sets off of XJs at the JY but have never come across any with part 31 in Eagle's diagram, has anyone found these?
shelbyluvv
The tow hooks on my truck have every bracket Eagle has shown. Mine came off a 97 XJ though.
