termitecontrol
Don't suppose any of you are lawyers or know the law well? Or how to deal with stupid people? :fs1: When I bought my Comanche, I bought a motorcycle on the side from the same guy. Paid him and everything. At the time it was at his friend's house. After we got the truck loaded up onto the trailer, we went on to his friend's house in the other town to check it out, he didn't come along. Before we parted ways we told him we probably wouldn't get it that day, but would come back up some other time and get it. Winter passed and we didn't get the bike and we didn't hear anything else from the guy. About a week ago I texted him to make sure he still had it and this guy tells me he gave it to his friend. Granted, it's only $50. Still, a deal's a deal and that's kind of a jackass thing to do. Any suggestions?
64 Cheyenne
No signed receipt? Lick your wounds and call it a day.... Just remember Karma and your $50 lesson for the day.
daking
So, you bought a bike. You went to look at it, said you would be back to get it. And, months later you decide to get it? What was the name of the store? And your not surprised it's gone?
Strokermjcomanche
If you get lawyers involved it'll cost you more than $50 to get it (if you win) . If he won't give it to you without a fight , cut your losses .
Jeep Driver
It's called 'cash and carry' for a reason. After 3-4 months........yeah, you lose. The price of laziness.
Incommando
Sorry, but at $50 that was a cheap lesson when it comes to figuring out that you should not do business that way.
COMJNUT
"Winter passed" $50 charge for storage fee, then he sold it to someone else. bummer you got beaned for $50 on the deal, but with that amount of time passing, don't have any expectations of it being there. termitecontrol
I'm not surprised it's gone... I know it wasn't smart on my part to not go and get it sooner but we didn't think there was too much of a rush and the weather was crappy pretty much every time we could have gone to go get it, and thought that if he needed it out he'd let us know. Oh well, I suppose..
Tommy
Sounds like you didn't get the title and didn't really want it that bad. His friend probably didn't want his place to be permanent storage and he had to get rid of it
87Warrior
If you didn't get the title, there is nothing that can be done. My family members who are involved with law always say a verbal agreement is as good as nothing. Where was this shady character from? Just curious incase I run into somebody trying to pull this kind of stunt.
