cody.quattlebaum.16
So, any tips on the best way to clean a motor/trans/transfer case? I want to clean mine up before installing it into my MJ. It has a ton of grime all over it. Also, where does everyone get their gaskets? I need to replace most of the engine and trans gaskets. Rock auto? Dando
When doing my swap I used a stiff brush, a pressure washer, and a whole lot of purple power sprayed on at full strength. Came out really well, I had to repeat the process a few times.

91Pioneer
For gaskets, use Fel-Pro permadry wherever possible. They're more money but will outlast the rest of the vehicle and not leak a drop. RockAuto, Amazon, eBay, I buy from whoever's cheapest with shipping.
shelbyluvv
I used purple power and dawn dish washing liquid. Dawn works wonders on oil and grease.
Jeep Driver
Yep, all the above. I use mineral spirits in a cup gun and use it like a mini pressure washer. I also use Gunk Original. Dollar General sells a product called Awesome that is $1 per spray bottle.....works great......you can't even buy a spray bottle for a dollar.....
