However, it had almost like a whoosh noise when you would hit the gas...almost like a vacuum leak but it didnt whistle just a whoosh noise. Coolant was clean. Dipstick looked fine and was oil color not milky, but it felt thin..sorta had the consistency of water..figure it really needs an oil change. But no noises. Alittle hard to start, had to give a little gas. H doesn't run it but once a week. My main issue is the entire passenger side of the block is caked in oil. The valve cover gasket is definitely leaking and likely the oil pan. Both were sealed previously with orange silicone. Even have access to everything I need for 4wd conversion. But that oil covered block scares me alittle. But it is 25 years old. I've had an 88 with oil leaks, they're all fixable. TheDude Posted October 4, 2014 Share Posted October 4, 2014 I spent $2600 on an almost completely rust free truck with only 109k on it with a small lift on it. It had its fair share of issues though. I also drove from Pittsburgh to New Jersey to get it and tow back behind my buddy's XJ. But I don't regret buying it even after putting a ton more work than I expected to get it on the road again. Got my 86 Comanche 125k miles for 1000 which was just a great deal because the truck had a lot of goodies, I would say best thing the truck has going for it is the body, but if your going to off-road it might as well not be too concerned about that. Oh and I bought mine in Oahu, Hawaii where it is rare and hard to find these trucks as well our cars are generally more pricey :D I'm sure you can find a better deal Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have NO idea where they get their info from. My 87 2.5 2wd is shown to be worth around $7000.00.... if I try to sell it, do you think Ill ever get $7000?
