JENSSEN Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Well the 1988 Comanche needed a refresh ,.. After a collision and a hit and run I decided it needed not just mending but a full refresh,... Rolling in,.. And the repairs begin 1.5hrs later And we continue,... Box mending Frame prep,.. Guide coats going on after a white primer: Block sanding in progress More to come,... Now do I stay original colour or go white with pearls? White? Maybe blue pearl??? I considered 2 tone but I have another truck for that,,,
88whitemanche Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Keep it the original color the white looks good already
Rymanrph Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I am a big fan of pearls, so that would be my vote. Maybe something like Lexus' Starfire Pearl.
86customanche Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I wasnt a fan of white trucks before I owned one. And now I wouldnt want it any other color. A good clean white truck really shines.
High2by Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 This is off subject but what size tires are you running? I like the white myself and a pearl would look sweet!
JENSSEN Posted March 8, 2013 Author Posted March 8, 2013 This is off subject but what size tires are? 225 55 R16
JENSSEN Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 Wow been a while since an update,.. Sorry Baby on the way has got me side tracked,.. A Few update photos: Got the bumper straigtened and back: Fixing some minor flaws on the cab corners: Coated the bed floor First shot at spraying the truck had some HUUUGE issues with dry spray Changed the formula and tried the tail gate,.. Much better Bed got a squirt:
JENSSEN Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 Repainted the cab and clip; a good polish later More and more polishing Bed resting back on the body Last of the bits getting a shot
JENSSEN Posted April 25, 2013 Author Posted April 25, 2013 Well today was the day it made its trek home :) It's now in good company again,.. Tucked away for reassembly Whoooot!!! Looking plain,.. Watching it bounce on the way home I am really unsure how much I can lower the stance without the wheels contacting the fenders on the front,.. Rear has lots of room to work with though!
neohic Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 I'm such a sucker for a clean, white MJ. Really looking forward to seeing this all put back together!
ftpiercecracker1 Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Damn! that is clean. I mean DAMN!
JENSSEN Posted May 10, 2013 Author Posted May 10, 2013 Still waiting on the new grill assembly but the new lights are at least here,.... Grill assembly should be here Monday!
vaquaro Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 Classic White  Always enjoy your project posts
JENSSEN Posted June 10, 2013 Author Posted June 10, 2013 Front end parts are tricking in,... reassembly has been slower than expected with the new baby. Hope to get the box bolted down, tank back in and back on the road soon! Lots of tedious work repainting parts, trim, and soon to line the bed.
