Josh Smith
Hello, I'm a fomer Jeep and GM Truck tech. I found this forum by automatic Google Alerts which tell me about the Mosin-Nagant rifle, of all things! My first vehicle ever was an XJ Cherokee, 1985 model, carbureted I4 2.5L engine. It gave me a whopping 83hp but I loved it! That thing was unstoppable. After killing a Camaro in Indiana Highway 13 whose driver apparently thought she could beat a truck with a car, I ended up with a '76 CJ5. Souped it a bit and kept killing the rear U-joint and eventually the entire rear-end, twice, I sold it. I'm on a long line of S-Series Blazers now. However, I miss my original XJ Jeep and have been thinking about getting another, or a Comanche. Anyway, I'm here. I'll throw in when I can -- I've done a LOT of work on these vehicles and may be able to dig deep down into this rusty brain of mine to find useful information. That said, I expect to say "Oh, yeah!" to a lot of stuff I read. By the way, I make adjustable Mosin sights now. Got out of the auto repair field a while back. Guess maybe I got old. Backdraft
Welcome to the club! Just go get you a Comanche. don't think about it. Its a great investment (moneypit). Also it'll be nice to have another gun nut here to offer their insight on the subject.
Josh Smith
I've been looking. Those things are scarce around here! I'm a fan of the AMC models, but I've not seen an AMC forever. I'd like a Texas truck, to be honest. Josh

neohic
I like how I just read across the title of the topic and instantly thought of the phrase being used by someone who is ridiculously excited about it! "What?! A club?!... Just for Comanches?! OH, WOW!! Who'd a thunk it?!?!" Like some kind of super elite group that someone just found out about and wouldn't ever have thought existed for any good reason. Or like a quiet brethren using cool handshakes that mean different things and secret ways of passing messages back and forth without anyone else knowing about it but at the same time in plane sight as if keeping our information safe from prying eyes... Free Mason type of secret lifestyle kind of deal! Awesome... Now found out, you're likely to find yourself spiraling into a pool of knowledge only few can understand. Why is my truck more special than others on the road? Why do I find myself looking at other Jeeps on the road and somehow feel as though I'm looking down on them as if from some metaphorical pedestal? Yet, why does my truck break down at the worst times?... is it fate? Is it telling me something? Is someone telling me something? Is one of my new found brothers trying to reach out to me by some spyish means? What does this all mean? What does any of this mean? Who am I? How did I find myself with these questions? You may now answer this by saying, "I am a Comanche Club member" with a profound period at the end of that sentence... just be sure to put questions in the proper section on the site. Welcome to you. Make sure to get Pete your ring size for your decoder ring.
Josh Smith
HAHAHAHA! Thanks guys. I'm gonna go work on some sights now; just need to package 'em and drop them in the USPS mail slot so they go out in the morning. I reckon I'll be back on before I teeter off to bed. Josh Smith
Yup, be a trick getting it up to Indiana right now! Don't really feel like trying to find 4x4 running gear. I would like to find a 4x4 and install a CJ transfer case. Lots of fabrication there, though, unless they've made new adapters. Not a big fan of chain drive or aluminum housings. Pete M
just need a flip kit for the dana 300. plus a better gear ratio... plus a 32 spine output... in the end ya might as well just get an Atlas t-case. :D
