Personally, I think they did a good job. I'm not a huge fan of this style Libby, but I think this is clean, and looks good. I don't know if I would have kept the rear wiper, or the stock hatch glass though. I think this is closer to what we as Jeepers would expect from a modern redo of a Jeep truck, rather than the $10K box of parts on top of a $30K Wrangler.

Not too bad actually. Decent bed area, considering it's on the Libby platform.

Ditch the rear wiper though, there's absolutely no need for that other than to say it's the ONLY pickup with that kind of option. Also, it would probably be perfect if they slapped another foot extension on the bed. I'm a lot more impressed with this than most of the talk about what's coming around concerning a Jeep Pickup.

I am a realist. We will never have a Comanche/J-truck/Gladiator back. Might was well stop crying about it. Now if they were to do the "Comanche" thing, and spawn off a pickup from the current boxier Liberty... I would be very very interested to see how that would turn out. New Libby style pickup with the new V6... MmmHmm. I would look at that seriously. Same with the "Compass" I just wish Jeep would make a car already, think of an American competitor to Subaru. Tough looking AWD cars, Jeep name, winning rallies like the WRX. Maybe call it the "Eagle"? Hint hint, wink wink.

Pretty much summed up my whole thoughts on the J-Truck scheme by the bigwigs over at Jeep. Although, I do believe they would just end up in a backfiring position on the "Eagle" approach if they were to do something of that nature with a Subi AWD competitor. I still remember as a kid all the flack the Jeep/Eagle (even though you're referring to the AMC version Eagle) deal got with a lot of people; namely the talk around work w/ where my dad used to work. I doubt most people even remember the Eagle brand (or the original car itself), but there's always surprises out there waiting.

I don't mean to knock someone's work but it reminds me of a Suburu Brat, on a steady diet of cheeseburgers and donuts.

Would look better if the cab was more perpendicular to the ground and the top of the bed was more parallel to the ground.

The ZJ has much better lines for that conversion.

kill it! kill it before it spreads!! ........ oh wait, they did :rotfl2:

seriously its not BAD but not good either. like others said, level off the bed and fix the back of the cab. maybe throw a real axle under the front end and call it a day

Eagle SX/4 for the win. All it really needed was a 2-speed transfer case ... although a solid front axle would have been nice, too.

Not a fan at all of the Libby's roofline. Looks like a cone head.

I would sell all of my rigs for that new J10.

And I've always wanted to lift/modify one of those eagles. I wonder how hard it'd be to swap in an OBD II H.O. Engine/trans.......

the j12 looks like a jk8, slightly longer, with a front end treatment to give a vintage look. no separate bed.

as for the komanche, looks well done although i would have done a few things different, like not use the hatch glass and wiper, and no side exhaust. with a crd, i'd drive it.

Komanche comments:

1. Never liked the Bushwacker-style flares with the screw heads. Painted regular XJ flares would have looked better.

2. Don't like tacky diamond plate either.

3. Don't like the side exhaust. Duals out the back would be better.

4. I do like the overall wedge shape of the body but the roof should have been parallel with the wedge slant. It's sets too high in the back. Roof height is fine.

5. Don't like the front bumper. It looks out of proportion because its too large.

Would I buy one with these improvements? Hell yes.

Reckon I'll just keep my J20 for another 30 years for heavy haulin and the MJ for running around duty.

In 30 years, you'll probably be one of the only people left in the country with a "true" J-Truck. Only seen two around where I live within the last 3 years. Still can't believe I let that 84' slip through my fingers. :fs1:
