Just picked this up from Vegas last week. My daughters new Comanche project 2wd converting to 4wd and swapping out the trans for a AX-15 for reliability. The rear is a D35 so that's going to be replaced by a 8.25" and a D30 for the front. Our goal is 90% used parts and to keep the total cost under $5K.

Removed the old transmission Sunday that was fun at 102*

 

 

Finally getting some parts Centerforce II clutch and everything we need to get this installed this weekend.

Synergy Suspension lower control arms. We like the oem bushing and the Johnny joint on the opposing side completely rebuildable.

Scored a set of low mileage 35" BFG's on craiglist! Probably need to lift the rear more!

Drove it to work today lots of little things to work on. We will be installing the Day Star Add a leaf to the rear in the next week should give us a 2" lift.

Looking good so far! I like the LCOG builds the best. And I'm not sure what it is, but every MJ I see outside of the forum has the grille upside down, including the one I just purchased. MJ owners lol

Hey! It's very confusing! :rotf:

 

 

Looking good. How did you pull the bed sides out?

Cut the inside edge about 3" from the pinch weld and weld or bolt in tabs to keep them pushed out. I had a 1988 Ford Ranger Pre-runner years ago very common with those.

Its not finished but are Jeeps ever? Its not my Jeep so who knows maybe it will never get done?  Thanks guys for the kind words, maybe we can get some trail pics after the 4wd gets finished up.
