Can Spell Comanche

Can Spell Comanche (2/11)

  1. Buddy of mine that lives in Arizona sent me a picture of this MJ today. Haha
  2. Out of curiosity, according to this, a cherokee wheelbase is 11.6" shorter than a swb mj. Does this mean the driveshaft would also be 11.6" shorter as long as the motor/trans/trans case/rear end are the same?
  3. What's the best way to measure that?
  4. I'm sitting at about 3-4 inches of lift and was curious if I could get away with using a rear driveshaft that's about an inch or an inch and a half longer than stock? Trying to find a driveshaft for my 4wd conversion, and I have one from an s10 blazer available to me right now.
  5. Ford Ranger ujoint straps. If you find the u bolt style, you can use them if you drill out your yoke on your axle and it makes fixing a broken off drive shaft a whole lot easier.
  6. Rear, 4.0, Puegeot, np231, D35.
  7. I'm looking for a stock swb manual trans 4wd driveshaft. Preferrably locally in Vegas.
  8. If you end up changing your mind and getting a different sending unit, I'll buy the 91-92 HO unit from you. Mine is leaking and so far no response to the wanted request in the classifieds. Thanks I'll definitely let you know if I do. I haven't been able to find a renix era one out here at all.
  9. I think I'm just gonna pull the gas gauge out of the cluster and make an aftermarket one fit in there. I'm planning on going to full aftermarket gauges eventually anyway. Thank you though.
  10. I had a guy come up to me and tell me his first vehicle was a comanche and he wanted one again, then tried to trade me his motorcycle for it.
  11. The 91 fuel gauge will not mount in a Renix cluster; completely different circuit board and mounting points. ah, okay. Thanks.
  12. You say you have a 91. That's a Chrysler HO. Mine is an 87 Renix. Will the sending unit wiring match? No, the sending units are different and send a different polarity signal output to the fuel gauge, but both the 87 and 91 4.0 MJs use the same Bosch fuel pump from the factory. Would the 91 sending unit work in an 87 if the gauge from the 91 was put in to replace the one in the 87 cluster?
  13. What about the connector for it? Maybe try cleaning that and making sure it's secure. If that doesn't work I would suggest testing the MAP sensor and IAC.
