Jeep Pickup decision coming soon

It would be quite a thing to see a Liberty turned into a truck, but I'd probably never see one in my driveway - feel free to disagree with me but I don't think a Liberty pickup would live up to the Comanche/Gladiator/etc. name. A JK pickup, on the other hand, I'd love to see.

Is that an Eliminator badge I see on that picture in the link? Or a Gladiator badge?

Either way, I still think that truck looks sharp. :brows:

I wish they'd stop messing around already and just give a yes or a no. All they have to do is build a 2 door, extended cab version of the Comanche like they should have done (at least had the option to buy one like that) back in '86. Just sayin'.

that green truck is the gladiator concept from a few years back. came around before the JKs were released to test the waters. Instead of the whole truck, all we got was the front end's facelift on the JKs.

My bet is that the pickup will be based off the upcoming Jeep Wagoneer, which is replacing the Durango after 2016. By then, the JK is up for a makeover as well. From what i've read, the new Liberty is looking more like a Subaru Outback than a Jeep

I think I need to go outside to look at my MJ some more to cheer me up. That 'Liberty' is atrocious. I was almost proud of Jeep for making the current Liberty ever so slightly resemble the XJ (in nothing but looks) but naturally they go ruin it. That Wagoneer is just 'alright' IMO but it would look so much better with the later SJ front end. If it had that, I would almost like it. Unfortunately, all Chrysler is becoming is basically rebadged Fiats so it's sort of a moot point. Browsing Allpar's '2014' section makes me sick the whole way down, in fact. I can't imagine what they're going to do to the Wrangler next generation.

I still like the JK pickup, though.

Ok I take back what I said. Now that Ive looked at allpar and the pics that I can't see in johnny quest's post, those are hideous. But then again, most concepts are ugly and are changed slightly before releasing. So for me, the jury is out and I will wait and see what actually happens before getting too angry.

Just keep in mind that most of the photos you see on allpar are not jeep concept photos, but rather some guy sitting behind a computer with photoshop open. These photos we are seeing are photoshops of a current vehicle with what someone thinks could be a possible styling ques, they are not anything that actually might make it into production because they are not official.

yada yada yada.

I'm so sick of Jeep teasing us with this and that and never coming to market with it.

Build an Effin' truck for cryin' out loud!!!!!

If they do it right, it will sell like crazy. Especially with the demise of the Ranger and other smaller trucks.

Keep it a smallish platform, with a cab, cab and 1/2 and quad cab options. Make it a real 4x4 with a decent engine at a reasonable price and bam!

Make it a REAL JEEP.

I'll buy one.

Would make me quit lusting over a Brute.

If they make it big and try to compete with the RAM, F series and chebby full size, they're doomed to fail.

If they make it too expensive, or have crappy powertrain options they're doomed to fail to.

IMHO.

I agree. Ever since the Gladiator concept came out in, was it 2005??, I have wanted one. But, seeing as we are quickly approaching 10 years of Chrysler dangling 'truck' concepts over our heads, I will continue to drive my 20 year old truck and be happy.

I actually decided to dive in to my 92 to the extent I have to quench any lust I had/have for the Brute.

MJ = way more useful than a Brute.

That one in the first post, would be bad @$$ if it was lifted 6 inches and a tad more tire. Would be nice if they do it, problem is it will be like any new "anticipated" model these days.

It will be off the charts on price.

New jeep pickup!.... $41k starting. Everyone will go.. WTF. lol.
