mountainman
since ive owned my truck for so long ive kind of gotten a few things out of it. it got me a job, a girlfriend, and best of all the reputation. what has your comanche gotten you? damn dude.. thats awesome. Mine has taken me all over the place, camping, tons of interested parties and positive comments, waves from people on the road pics taken on the freeway etc. But as for a GF, id LOVE for that to happen. You are a lucky man. :)
bottomline89
Jeep waves and a bunch of the regular questions/comments like "jeep made a truck?" Or "my uncle/dad/grandpa had one of those.. he loved it." "They were good little trucks" And the J.E.E.P. syndrome (just empty every pocket)
jimoshel
Had a State Trooper pull me over about a year ago. Some silly nonsense about doing 'over 80' in a 75 MPH zone. They prefer you stay in your car but I told him my leg was killing me and could I please get out and stretch. We were standing in front of the MJ and after he chewed my @$$ out and checked the license and registration he eyeballed the truck pretty close. We got to talking. Seems his wife, girlfriend, had one when he met her and they went on a lot of dates in it. Told him about the yard and invited him out when ever. A couple days later I sold him a '97 ZJ I had just finished. We wave at each other when we pass on the highway. Oh yes. No ticket, just a warning to get my speedometer fixed. :D
Blue88Comanche
Having my MJ gave me the opportunity to learn about these tough little trucks, and i have learned a lot in the past 4. I started out with a old faded blue Jeep MJ, spent time, money, and more money on it now its a head turner. so here is what my MJ got me: Compliments People offering to buy it.. (not going to sell it) basic repair skills general automotive knowledge I otherwise wouldn't have looked into (gears, axles, engines, tires) an unnatural obsession with Jeeps Discounts at my local auto parts store Discount at 4WD.com (wouldn't have happened if i did not have my Comanche to find this awesome website) ComancheClub.com window Decal But I still don't have a girlfriend, or A/C... Guess I can manage without both for a while.
2360
My comanche gotten me around for about 466,000 km's over a 22 years. Today while driving my Comanche to work, it got me wondering when my fuel pump or CPS will pack it in, I'm hoping they last forever. My Comanche got a ticking lifter and its gotten me wondering about getting the engine fixed or replaced. That ticking doesn't represent Jeep's well. One thing my Comanche has gotten me, that most other vehicles can't brag about, took out a lightpost along the highway (due to slick road conditions back in 93) and was able to drive away after changing a flat tire. Apart from impact damage from the lightpole, I still can't figure how that Jeep climbed over that concrete base (approx 20" high) with both wheels and not get a scratch on the underside of the Jeep. Apart from preparing to die just before impact, it was kind of cool watching the light pole disappear over the cab. What's my Comanche gotten me 99% of the time, HOME! 1989 Eliminator
Gave me a good understanding of how to work on a jeep and what parts do what. Love working on the Jeep. But mostly a good sense of pride driving it around town getting looks all the time.
Automan2164
About 15 more of them in one way, shape, or form. I have a loft full of parts, a shed full of parts, a basement full of parts, emblems on the living room table as well as a stack of FSM's, Comanche Club magnets all over the fridge, a reputation as "The Jeep guy", Helped me get a job offer, kept me grounded, and kept my passions strong.
