kawaboy13
There is an old abandoned yard with about twenty junk cars in it about seventies from my house. It is right off of the main highway and there is two longbed MJ's sitting and decaying. I want to take parts for extras and save some things but nobody owns it? I looked it up and can't get in contact with the last owners of the lot. What should I do from here? Also what parts should I pull if I can get in contact with someone? Any use in pulling the entire vehicles home and selling them? :dunno: thanks in advance!
86customanche
I'm sure theres a way to find the current owners and a phone number for them. My county has a GIS webpage that has every lot in the county and an incredible amount of info, including purchase price/date and all assessments. Do some research and you should be able to find the owners, then buy the trucks real cheap and use what you can (thats my op anyways)

btm24
You could always file for abandoned titles  Brandon

JeepcoMJ
Contact the local P.D. And ask for the police chief, let him know the purpose, and ask him what you can do if you can't contact the owners. I did that once, they ran the vin, and basically gave me written permission to take the vehicle for salvage only, and informed the neighbors. MJRemi
It's times like this that I think "WWJD?" I thought it was Jim's yard he was talking about! :dunno:
carnuck
I would go to the county and get the tax info which has payer addresses.
jimoshel
It's times like this that I think "WWJD?" I thought it was Jim's yard he was talking about! :dunno: I represent that remark. Besides. He said 2 MJ'S. Not a dozen. Also I think the situation has been pretty well hashed over. Time to dump or get off the pot. Suggestions. 1. Find out who owns the property.Contact them. If nobody then maybe you can pick it up for back taxes. 2. What can you get per ton for scrap, Here I get about $300 per ton or per car. Might pay for the lot with the cars on it. Split the profits with the owner or county. 3. Talk to the local police chief or sheriff. Get their intake on the situation. 4. See if the 2 MJ'S have tags. Get the tag or VIN. Locate last owner. Buy it from them. This will give you a legal right to recover them. 5. Just drive in as if you owned the place. Haul off what ever you want. Don't call me to go your bail. It had tons of information but I don't remember it having any sort of contact information.
87Warrior
I second the above postings. Just type in "your county, state GIS" into Google and you should be able to quickly find out who owns the property, how much it is worth and what they pay in taxes.
