Pete M
I bet my code enforcer was just grinnin' like a damn jack-o-lantern. :fs1: So the 88 is technically in my dad's name and the state of michigan failed to get the plate renewal forms to him in georgia (moved a couple years back). the plate expired and the code enforcer jumped on it and tagged/towed it. no problemo you might think. I'll just go renew the tags, pay the fine, and get my truck outta hock. except that I'm out of state at the moment. no problemo, my roommate will go do it. not so fast. Michigan says ya gotta be family or have proof of same residency as the vehicle to renew a plate and of course he's only been there a few months and doesn't have that. so he's on his way to the secretary of state anyway with title in hand to see if there's anything they can do. updates as events warrant... :wall:

Pete M
my roommate has come through  and the truck is tagged and back at home. (and by "come though" I mean the truck was missing for over a week and he didn't notice :fs1: ) now to deal with this "abandoned vehicle" ticket... maddzz1
You should see about a harassment complaint against this guy. Its obvious he has a vendetta against you. If that don't work, follow him home and remove the plates from his car and then report it. You should put a big welcome home sign on it with balloons to piss him off. jimoshel
If your fish is missing and your roomy offers you a 'tuna fish salad or sandwich' when you get back, be suspicious. :shake:
Sir Sam
I'm starting to think there is a special ring of hell for a$$hole code enforcement people. Not all are a$$holes though.
Automan2164
A lot of it has to do with the higher ups also... For those who don't know, I do work for Public Works... We recently went union, and the code enforcement guy was instructed to write up a coworker for having one tire off his driveway and in the "Grass" (Actually the dirt on the edge of the paved driveway). Once he was written up by the code enforcement guy, the city "Discovered" the issue, and threatened to suspend/reprimand him from/at public works since he is "upheld" to a higher standard. 'effin' ridiculous. Rob
carnuck
I've had a great time with some of those jerkoffs. My fav was to have some buddies in full uniform march into his office as my "posse" while I had a couple words with him. Basically to the effect "while pussies like you ruin this country with your manicured lawn enforcement, WE keep it safe. Remember that!" Never got bothered again.
