btm24
I found my self thinking about this, this morning. I remember my parents having one back when my brother still lived at home who is 10 years older then me but I can't even remember when they got rid of it. It makes me so sad to because I remember it was so much fun to play on and so comfy to sleep on. And yet when I went to get a new bed a few years back, I didnt even think about a water bed and don't even remember seeing any in the stores. So how many of y'all had one? And how many of y'all still use one? Brandon
neohic
I'm stupid picky when it comes to what I'm sleeping on each night. The occasional futon is fine, but when it comes to daily duty, I need quality. For years, I rocked a water bed. When I was working in fabrication and repair, I had a couple mile commute and I stayed on my feet all day. It was nothing less than amazing to fall asleep each night on my water filled ecstasy. Then my daily drive turned into about a drab 150 mile round trip drive. So I sat in a car for 12 hours a week... then my back went to crap over the next two years. In comes my Tempurpedic... trumpets will sound, velvet ropes part, and confetti falls from the heavens. I will never go back to my water bed. mvusse
My brother had one in "his" room at my parents' house until last Christmas when it sprung a leak.
Exxon Valdez Jeep
I rocked a water bed till about 7 months ago. Loved it. now I have a boring old mattress and can't sleep at night so I'm here on CC posting up at 3 am. :(
SW86
man. its been awhile since ive thought about them too. its probably been 6 or 7 years ago when i last used one. i could never get a good nights rest on one cause i move around a lot at night. the nonstop motion kept me awake unless i was drunk. go figure but using them for other things, thats a different story :D
arkninjazx9
my mom had a waterbed till this last Christmas when she got a new bed , so my wife took her old one and set it up in my (moved to Colorado) sons room. DirtyComanche
In comes my Tempurpedic... trumpets will sound, velvet ropes part, and confetti falls from the heavens. Agreed. I have one. It was the floor model/demo, so it was cheap. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have sprung to buy it, but knowing what I know now, I would pay full price. Also, people with water beds... Check your homeowner's insurance. Some have a premium for water beds. They present a risk of water damage. If you didn't disclose it when getting insurance, you might not be covered... 89Comanche4x4
i don't think i would ever get one... my friends parents have one upstairs in their cabin... only because they can't possibly fit a matress up there... :D
xjrev10
Huh. Funny thread, but makes you think a bit. I remember my folks having one, 10 plus years ago. I know at their MN house they still have the waterbed structure, but with a real mattress. My guess is the leaking problems with them is why they kinda went by the wayside.
