b16gsr
It is all for sale viewtopic.php?f=24&t=34238 I have wanted an MJ for a LONG time, but around here, just like the XJ's they are all rotted out and not worth the crazy asking prices. I got lucky on this Arkansas rig, so no calcium or salt on the roads too often. After owning 7 XJ's and after buying the second one, I have always told myself that they had to come from the I-70 border and south. Finally got the new project home and cleaned up. Really excited to get started on this one. Thanks to another forum member for a great deal on the MJ and conversion parts. Plans are to get everything swapped over to the 97 and up style to look like the Classic XJ. Layout: 97 up Sheetmetal swap Full respray to Jeep White Rhino lined bed Mercedes OM617 swap with AW4/231 4" SOA lift 8.25 rear swap Fuel Revolver wheels 15 X 8 Toyo Open Country M/T 33 X 10.50 X 15 Full 97 up XJ interior including the UK Diesel Dash swap: Gauge Cluster from UK Diesel XJ Glow Plug and Wait to start indicator from UK Diesel XJ All of the interior will be for sale, as well as the body panels. They are in very good shape, and will make good replacements. Rubicon tires and wheels are for sale as well. Here is what I am starting with, only on little hole in the drivers floor pan, which I will fix. Very excited about this project and will update as I make progress. I ran it through my wash bay and cleaned out the bed and interior and was extremely surprised with the outcome. The guys that work for me want to buy it, but I said no go. Here is the album: Thanks for looking.

Thunderbear
If my truck looked like yours I'd consider leaving the red interior. That actually looks sharp with that color.. and I never thought I'd say that.

Will keep updated as I get to working on it. The weather is too cold to do anything right now. If my truck looked like yours I'd consider leaving the red interior. That actually looks sharp with that color.. and I never thought I'd say that. Funny you say that, BUT I want the new style interior with the above gauge cluster. Truck looks like a great platform. Where are you located and welcome aboard! Looking forward to seeing this project come together RockMJ It is a perfect platform. Looking forward to digging into it. I am in the Kansas City MO area. Thank you.

Rymanrph
I love that color combination both the interior and exterior. You should at least keep the exterior color.
shelbyluvv
I love the interior! I am truly a fan of the cordovan interior. If that carpet is as good as it looks in the pics I would be willing to buy it! That is a really nice truck. I am thinking a agate 97+ interior with 96 ZJ clothe seats would look great with the burgundy exterior.
b16gsr
Very nice. I love the Rubicon wheels. Can't wait for the build. Thanks, they are for sale too. It is going to be a long build I am afraid. looking good,i LOVE long box comanches :D ME TOO, have wanted a good one for a long time. Nick, subscribing so I can follow your build! :wavey: Glad to see the truck showed up to you in good shape. And don't forget my offer to help you out Brett thankin you. It is in better shape than I expected that is for sure. I will be picking your brain for sure. I love that color combination both the interior and exterior. You should at least keep the exterior color. I am not a fan of either. My wife says the exterior is purple, although it is maroon. I love the interior! I am truly a fan of the cordovan interior. If that carpet is as good as it looks in the pics I would be willing to buy it! That is a really nice truck. I am thinking a agate 97+ interior with 96 ZJ clothe seats would look great with the burgundy exterior. The interior was just dirty and cluttered. It is in very very good shape for the age. Once it is out with a little more vacuuming it would almost be like new. The entire interior will be for sale as a package once it is out. It will definitely have the darker agate interior with the agate XJ seats. The exterior is going to be white, I love white vehicles with black wheels, so that is the combo it will get. With having to paint the front clip and the doors it only makes since for a full respray.

turboxr
Dude, I'm so stoked you like it! I'm glad you're plugging along with the diesel idea I implanted ;) You are building it exactly as I was planning to. Wish I would have kept it now, but with my new job taking all my time at the moment, I needed something a bit less time consuming. Keep me posted brother! Sir Sam
Funny you say that, BUT I want the new style interior with the above gauge cluster.. Actually if you do this right you can keep that diesel cluster 100% functional. you will need a gasser PCM or diesel ECM/gateway, tie your couple of sensors into that module, and it will transmit that information via the CCD bus to the UK guage cluster. That is if you want it to appear stock on the inside. I have similar issues with my swap, but I need to use a TJ guage cluster since 02+ TJs use the PCI bus. b16gsr
A little update, sold the Rubicons to buy the new tires and wheels. Nice Jeep, and digging the diesel idea. I cannot make the OM617 work easily with the 97+ electronics, and I am a person who has to have ALL of them working. AND this little dream came along. 1999 XJ 140K perfect drivetrain, harnesses, interior etc. perfect as in well maintained no rms leak, no fluids underneath, brand new radiator and condenser So the plan now is to swap it all over to the MJ and make it all work right. keep it coming bro. I can't wait to see the final product. will do, waiting for the right weather here to get started.
