foreman1063 Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Makes me sick to see this in the scrap yard. This thing is in great shape and written on the windshield is "runs and drives". Why it's in the bone yard is beyond me. The body is great with no rust, with shinny paint and equally nice interior. Oh well, here's the info: 1988 Comanche Olympic package(I think), LWB, 4.0l, 2wd, 5 speed, burgundy interior.
MJRemi Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 That is sad to see. Honor it by saving all the goodies, including the rear slider.
mvusse Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 That is sad to see. Honor it by saving all the goodies, including the FACTORY rear slider. Fixed it for you.
SW86 Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 yea it sucks but we can't save them all. there was one in a JY down here that was barely messed up. i got what i could off it and a few days later went back to buy it but it was already crushed. you know what to grab, so grab it! including the vin!
Rymanrph Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Doesn't look like an Olympic package. They were only red, white or blue with gold stripes.
500 MJ Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Doesn't look like an Olympic package. They were only red, white or blue with gold stripes. Sticker is on the driver's side of the rear window. Either the window was transferred or the truck's been re-painted...? '88 is the correct year, I'm guessing re-paint.

Now that you mention it, the paint on the inside of the bed did kind of look like at of repaint. The rest of the paint though looks factory, even on the inside of the doors and under trim etc. Maybe the rear window is a transplant. :dunno: Man, that bumper looks nice. Yeah, it's in good shape except for an antenna hole in the bumper cover. Can those be purchased new? If so, maybe I'll go back and get it.
ejndssn Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 dang wrong time :fs1: right in the middle of the holidays have to take care home first and hoping for a miracle to salvage a come back to get my a machine back on the road. :brows: and looking to get a 2nd from the foreman if all goes well.
foreman1063 Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 and looking to get a 2nd from the foreman if all goes well. You got the bug

In your shoes I would grab it anyway, I have not seen one with metal that straight in a long time.

Rymanrph Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I didn't realize this was in NC. What yard is it in?

88MJXLS Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 If I was anywhere near that JY, I'd empty my savings to save what's left of it. You can always transplant axles and whatnot, but you'd be hard pressed to find a bed/cab in that good of condition ;)
