64 Cheyenne
As the title says, 1978? was my last year of school (9th grade-didn't finish). Dropped out or booted out, I don't know, I didn't care. Never went to a school dance, never got to take a date to the Prom. I got my GED while I was in the army in 1984. How things have changed. 33 years later. Monday I graduated (with honors) from Chief Dull Knife College in Lame Deer MT. I received an Associate of Arts degree. (general studies) I'm enrolled for fall semester MSUB online seeking a business/science degree. About a month ago I presented a science poster at MSU Bozeman, in 1997 while I was doing some roofing on that college (MSU Bozeman) I never ever thought I would be a student. Never thought I would be presenting a scientific poster with a room full of really smart people. I thought I wasn't smart enough, couldn't afford it, whatever. Wrong... My advise to others about school, Make the call there are so many people out there whose job it is to get you into school (find funding) and to help you succeed. I did. Geonovast
Didn't do well in HS, because I didn't care. Graduated with around a 2.87. Currently enrolled at ITT Tech for an Associates Degree in Computer Electronics. Doing quite well too. Now is a really good time to go to school, doesn't matter how dirt poor you are. tbrand
Way to go, man. I left college four years ago, and I'm going back to finish this fall. I've seen how limiting the world can be when you don't have a degree. Even if you know your stuff, you'll still get passed over in favor of someone with letters after their name. HOrnbrod
Great job Ed. You are a credit to the forum, a sharp guy and now realize that education is mandatory nowadays. Sounds like it took you awhile to wake up as it did with me. This is a good example for you young guys to not waste years of your life before education realization sets in. :smart:
