SW86
thanks guys! yeah looking back it looks a hell of a lot better now then it did when i bought it for sure. I'm not through with him yet either. i just can't keep spending all my money on him lol. i didnt do the camo, it was like that when i bought it. I'm thinking the 97 conversion with military style paint job in the near future. also 32s would prolly be the best tire to run with. 31s are a TAD bit small but the 32s would prolly be the best bet as far as not having to trim. SW86
damn its been awhile! made some decent deals today putting the wheels back in motion on my build. bought a 8.25 rear and a non-cad dana 30 but its a low pinion! :wall: bummer here's the 8.25 somewhat in pieces needs new hardlines but the brakes are good, as well as the 3.55 gears. throw on some new perches and shock mounts and under the manche it goes :D also have my long arms on the way and working on some used 33s. seems to be coming along nicely now
SW86
been a LONG time since ive updated this but i figured ive got time to now so here we go. got my JCR bumper before they changed formats on how they make them now also installed my RK long arms so sexy that way awhile back installed the spartan front with lube locker wheeled it a few times like that (4.5/spring under 31" KM2s) not very many pics overheated and blew up the pressure bottle cap traffic jam thanks to me didnt really do anything major for awhile. got some warn driving lights and put in some rock lights (only pic i could find of the warn lights) ive installed more rock lights since these first six. i now have nine got the 8.25 all cleaned up, ZJ disc brakes installed, then spartan locker and lube locker soon followed as well as BTF covers front and rear. i grinded off the logos and painted them up after that got 33 mud grapplers and new rims then installed them along with my front bilstein 5160s, RK 6.5 coils, 6.5-8" track bar and Zj V8 tie rod installed rear hood spacers to let out some unwanted heat after that i got off my @$$ and installed the 8.25 spring over wheeled it a bit then one day at the sand pits my radiator goes out radiatorexpress sucks balls! i then bought one from radiatorbarn and did the open system swap. (no pics) finally grew a pair and decided to do the white/yellow baja-prerunner style paint job over the redneck camo doors werent on at the time so they didnt get painted yet I'm sure i left out a $#!&-load of little things but thats the jist of it. i start on the yellow this week/weekend. ill keep this thread updated from now on since i take pics of most everything anyway.. RockinMJ
Looks sick. How you like those tires?
SW86
love them. they rip up the mud, glide in sand and grab the rocks pretty good. some say they wear fast but mine seem to be doing just fine. its not really a daily driver anymore but i still drive it on pavement a decent amount. the noise factor is true, they are louder then most but its not unbearable. id buy another set hands down
89eliminator
looking good! i like the change in paint. my friend had mud grapplers on his ford and i could hear him a mile away haha.
camjeep3
I like the way the truck is going! the mud graps have a very distinctive sound.... very high pitched, sounds like an airplane taking off haha.

SW86
its finally back on! several people have told me its like a life sized hot wheels car. one guy liked it so much he tried to get me to sell :rotf: can't wait to see what it'll look like with the rest of the yellow on there. I'm even thinking about painting a number on the side of the bed but don't really know which one. i like 420 but I'm not about to get pulled over everytime i drive the damn thing :chillin: :shake:

SW86
more yellow is on the MJ now. its slowly getting there. why i always pick days with the most wind to do this,, i don't know. its not perfect but its a trail rig so I'm not going for perfect :D I'm thinking i might add two vertical stripes behind the back wheel/in front of the tail lights. then put a number in front of the back wheels. full and half doors will be painted this weekend. can't decide if i want my half doors to match or just go all yellow with them. either way I'm liking it more and more. for a jeep i bought as a toy, its starting to look like one :shake:
SW86
felt like throwing this pic up. not very recent (month or so old) but more so then the last posting lol. first time on the new trailer. have to replace the water pump, again... other then that he's doing good. i started making designs for the tube/flat bed. pretty much got it how i want it, now just to get off my @$$ a do it
buffalob
just finished reading through your build thread...what a transformation. Where in Arkansas are you? I was born in Fayetteville but both sides of my family were from Pine Bluff down south. All are gone out there now i'm afraid....know what you mean about the humidity...I don't miss that. Great truck. Bob in Denver

SW86
thanks man. ill give it a shot tomorrow. and i thought something about that too but figured it was just for the tail lights so it never crossed my mind again
SW86
yup it was the ground wire. threw it on this morning and it fired right up. should be taking it to the shop within the next two weeks to start on an exo cage tied into a tube bed. gonna be sick! SW86
nothing much going on still. painted the back side of the cab white and zip tied up some loose wires. the 4x4 shop I'm taking it to is a little behind right now, so the exo and tube bed are on hold
MtnClimber
Did you do a cut n' fold to the rear or justa cut?
SW86
the rear quarters? just a straight cut along the body line. I'm sure the cut and fold method would give you a little more rigidity but i didnt think it would be enough to matter. held up great thus far
SW86
welp. drivers side brake line got @#$%ed up when i was crawlin' the other day. i tried to fix it today and it snapped clean off. so now I'm having to take off the whole valve assembly just for a new line and you guessed it. nothing wants to break free. been soaking in PB for awhile now, hope it does the trick.....
