Rymanrph
I had two 12's in my last car (probably will never buy subs that big again) and I don't want to put them in my Wrangler, but I'm not sure if I can get them to fit in the Comanche. I was just going to wait and do something down the road, but I since I have the whole interior gutted right now and I"ll be putting it back together in the next week or two, I thought I might try and make them work. Has anyone else fit a pair of 12s behind the seats? I just scored a set of 2 dr XJ seats, so I'll have easy access to them. Pictures would be awesome since I'll have to build my own boxes. Harper
Now what I'd really really like to have is a handheld ray gun that I could point at the boomer that just pulled up beside me at the stop light, and melt his 12" sub voice coils!! :chillin: :shake:
Rymanrph
I'm not wanting to blow my windows out, but why spend money on a smaller sub and amp when I have these already?
Squeegy410
I havent tried it, but if you need to make them fit and you have an extra set of seats you could always make the speakers fit by cutting the backs of the seats out
DJM/78
They'll fit with some sort of box , you'll have to make it or have it made but it will fit with the Amp too . You probably won't have any room back there after but it would be loud for sure .
Pete M
what about just using one? that way you retain the storage space behind the drivers seat.
Justin_k
2 truck boxes. Make them yourself then you can port them, or design them how you want. Are your subs shallow or deep? Me an a buddy put 2 10 deeps into a mazda B2000 no problem. It can be done, you just might have to work a little bit.
Rymanrph
They're kinda deep. Kicker Comp VRs. I like the idea of only using one - makes sense to leave a little space left over.
beaterjeep
12" Kicker Comp's as well. They fit fine, only had to move the seat forward one click on the slider, which was still more than enough room for my 6'1" self to fit with no complaints. landlubber
i have one 10" sub behind my seat, scored the box off a friend for cheap that fit perfectly. I have a bud who built his own box to fit in the limited space behind the seat in his F-150 and he has two 10" If i were to put 2 subs in the MJ, i would defiantly do something like that, i don't really store anything behind the seat anyways, just put the box back in the bed. watchamakalit
No pics but I have 2 12" Kenwoods in my MJ. Had to custom build the boxes and put the amp under the passenger seat.
manche75
I was running 2 12" MTX Thunder 4000's. now only one and its behind the passengers seat. I could'nt cut down my $150 crunch box(big mistake) enough for the seat to go all the way back, which is where I need it.
ben3G
i have a pair of 12s behind my bench seat one on each side and they are in a connected box with the amp in the center but i can't move my seat back that far though I'm about to put my bucket seats in tomorrow so we will see what happens
Rymanrph
Do buckets take up more space than the bench?
Oizarod115
Do buckets take up more space than the bench? i've got buckets and built my own box, put a 10 behind the passenger seat and it goes all the way back. i think with a bigger opening a 12 would drop down inside my box.
