Minuit Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 (edited) Since this thread is alive again: - I'd be perfectly fine with it looking the way mine does. Metallic paint! - Extended cab hopefully with usable seats back there. - Something like a stroked 4.0 (24v would be brilliant) but it has to be reliable. A small V8 could be an option. - Please no plastic body components. Flares etc are fine. - I would like a 6 speed but I could live with an automatic. - It should be built on a frame with good strong welds. It should be rust proof to some degree. - 4x4 with dana 44's front and back. - It can't fall apart in 100k miles. It should be built like a tank. Options: - No power windows - Power locks and that's it. Definitely no hydraulic brain assist or whatever the latest thing is. - A center console that doesn't go flying any time I turn. anti-christ-comanche Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 reading alot of these there is alot of great ideas but the factory can't do alot of that lol...keep it simple and base...single cab with large area behind for storage guns etc...split bench with fold down center(i like being able to utilize the whole bench;) no carpet just rhino lined or something similar...removable drain plugs in floor to be able to wash out. i agree a little wider in the cab... manual tranny for every engine option...small diesel yes and hemi of some sort...4x4 duh and a lowered 2wd option sorta like a tacoma for street fun...ill think of more later

Here you go - - - HIT THE COMMENCER. JETHRO. . . . .
Dedaw Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 A wider frame/roomier interior. Those damn benches make it almost impossible to get the truck rocking - even for a small guy like me.
codymanche Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 I would like to see them again period. No more teasers! But design wise. 1. Full Frame - keep width the same 2. Extended Cab option, Four Door option, Dually Option. I would have buckets up front and bench in rear. 3. 6 or 8ft bed difference in the Ext Cab or Four door or Dually. 4. Dana 44 Rear 5. front D44 (TJ) 6. Engine options 8cyl / diesel - V8 can be a special edition only. Diesel needs to be a reliable for what we are building to stay in the Comanche sizing. Other options - 5 Speed Transmission, Automatic/ Manual, Electric lockers, Disconnect Swaybars, Metric Ton/ Tow Package, Offroad Package with Skid plates and Offroad lights, or Make one "The Package" where you can get every option and it not cost you an arm and leg. 7. Stock tire size should be started at 31" All-terrains. Rubicon Edition starts with a 32" Mud-Terrain 8. Design wise I like the last year of the Cherokee. But all lights would be led or hid. Daully would have running lights on top and along the side on the rockers and on the flare side in the rear. I'm sure there is more
Dedaw Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 It's got a whole bed back there... Freezing weather + metal+ naked bodies = :rotf:
gogmorgo Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 You don't have a healthy quilt of snow back there? :rotfl2: Keeps ya from sticking, and adds to the excitement!
Tylerzap Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 For me, it would be EXACLY like the original, except for these: 97+ Style, or even a slightly updated one 4.0 standard, Hemi optional Auto, 5 speed, and 6 speed options. Factory fixed yoke 2x4 and 4x4 options Rear D44 and front D30 standard- 44 front optional RUST RESISTANT PAINT Extended cab option. No crew cab. I think they look silly. Also ALOT thicker and stronger unibody. But all of this would be up to date with new safety standards and equiptment.
